David: quick question.... I got the impression that the " split down the middle with a hacksaw" scene was inspired by 2015's Bone Tomahawk. Am I correct?
@morotaka796 жыл бұрын
Not at all since the scene was written before the film came out. Damien was actually inspired by an old medieval torture method for that.

Wow. Extremely impressive. Keep at all this, dude. You're gonna be a top guy in Hollywood before too long. On a side note, and I'm sure you've heard this 300 million times already, you really slammed Terrifier right out of the park. Favorite scene was with the "homemade" wig and, uh.... chestpiece. So utterly creepy and the mannerisms are what made it so good. Hope there's a sequel at some point. Awesome stuff!

Thank you so much for having humourous videos on your channel! I'm a horror fan. It's really the only genre of movie I watch and I like to think I'm quite desensitised to it all, so I can just enjoy a film without getting uncomfortable. But goddamn, your performance in Terrifier is a truly disturbing, disquieting, uncomfortably visceral experience. Well done, sir. Very much looking forward to the sequel(s). And again, thankfully your YT channel is anathema to Art the Clown; I can go to sleep thinking of this video whenever his horrifying face pops up in my head. New sub!

I had to look you up after the movie and watch this and puppy videos as eye bleach lol. Oddly enough I had to rewatch the movie the night after I watched it for the first time, as creepy and scary as it was... Art the Clown is such a fascinating character. I kind of want to see an origin film about him, but I i am also feel it might spoil the mystery surrounding him. I figured by the ending of the film that there will be a sequel so that has me soooo excited. Blegh, I have seen sooo many horror films, even the banned and gory and truly disturbing ones and I honestly don't get that phased by much anymore but Art had me crawling in my skin, in a good way, like a horror movie should! The performance was just amazing. The pizzeria scene was just iconic and I was also a big fan of the scene where he walks out wearing the hair and the breasts, it was just so twisted. I'm hoping there will be some insight on Art's relationship with his mother. Did he have a mother figure in his life? Was she abusive? was she loving? Did he grow up without a mom? IS HE A GODDAMN ZOMBIE ALIEN? so much mystery surrounding him. I hope this role will open up more acting opportunities for you in the future. As far as I have read you have a long career of acting so hopefully this is your big break. Hard work pays off, eh? Anyways, I also read that you were an understudy of Stefán Karl and reading that I could kind of see how some of Art's mannerisms reminded me of Robbie Rotten. I am from Iceland, like Stefán Karl and unfortunately he passed away on august 21st due to aggressive bile duct cancer he had been battling with for two years. The whole nation is still mourning the loss of him. Being such a small island the loss feels like losing a family member. He will be missed.
@morotaka796 жыл бұрын
Wow. Thanks so much for all of the compliments, especially that last bit about Stefan. He was my biggest source of inspiration for Art. His passing really hit me hard since he was a great mentor to me. I can only imagine what a loss you all are feeling over their in Iceland. He was constantly telling us all about what a wonderful nation you all have and how supportive you all were of each other. He truly love your country and loved making you all happy. I hope to carry on in his stead in some way or another. :)

David Thorton, I just watched Terrifier and I thought you were great in the film. It is probably one of the best horror films we have had in a while. I do have a question. I like to look up filming locations for movies. I know that the pizza shop was filmed at Andy's pizza on deer park ave in NY. But I am wondering where the warehouse is located. If you could let me know that would be awesome!

Hey Howard (or do you prefer being called Art). I watched Terrifier and you did a "killer" job. Very charismatic performance which is especially impressive since your character had no lines to hold it up. Again you did a great job and its nice to see you're still in touch with the people. I suppose thats how it is in this day and age with online social media. Speaking of "this day and age". I'm very curious as to what film was used. This movie looks almost exactly like one of them cult classics from 1981, even the acting styles was very old school.. which is a good thing. I havent seen a new movie be able to pull it off that close until this one. Was that a conscious decision of the directer perhaps? Anyways, keep rockin' the Art! Cheers from Canada, D.
@morotaka796 жыл бұрын
YES! That was a conscious decision of the director! I am glad you caught on to that, because it seems like so many have not. We actually shot on Red and downgraded the look for that grittier grind house film feel of those days. All of that was intentional, even to the basic plot. It was our love letter to those types of films. Man, I wish more people got that. LOL! Thanks for the compliments! Oh, btw, my middle name is actually Howard. I got by my whole name professionally since there is another actor named David Thornton (who is married to Cyndi Lauper).
@donmon53616 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your response. Apologies on getting the name mixed up. But yes, I think only those who were able to appreciate the classic horror movies of that era will understand what it's all about. Technologically speaking, whats amazing is how this is the closest I've ever seen in modern movies to that nostalgic feel. The only tip off is of course the movie takes place in modern times hence cell phones and hair cuts. But it has a great "punk rock" classic vibe and I always loved those movies. Your performance was very unique, I look forward to seeing more of Art. However I dont know how you guys are gonna top those gory murders but if you can, then that will definitely be worth the wait! Cheers! All the best to your career!
@donmon53616 жыл бұрын
Actually I just thought of a great murder, Art somehow traps someone and gets them stuck (between something) while their head is in (say) a car or some mobile that is slowly moving while the body is stuck.. and then the head is torn off hahahaha gotta love those movies! :)
@rageagainstmyhairline55745 жыл бұрын
@don mon The style WAS great, wasn't it? And the location. Every little thing contributed to that good old grindhouse feel; you get the feeling if you ran your finger over the screen it'd come away dirty. Truly the best horror experience I've had in years.

You are really good at impressions! I’ve always really liked impersonation videos Brock Baker and a few others. When I was little and found out Mel Blanc was pretty much every cartoon character I loved. It’s a shame kids are too cool for cartoons like the Merry Melodies and Looney Toons. Saturday morning cartoons were sacred back in the day. I used to do some impressions and I was pretty good. I was a big fan of the Rocky movies and I could have fooled Sylvester Stallone’s mother over the phone. (Probably not, but I like to think I was that good.) Anyways your range of talents from being a creepy clown to spot on impressions is really good. I hope Terrifier can get a big studio behind with some big money, but stay out of the creative process. Art could very well be mentioned along side Jason, Michael and Freddie someday.

David Thornton That is a tricky one. Foghorn has always been one of my favorites. I had an uncle that pretty much talked like him and he wasn’t doing an impression that’s just how he talked. I used to get such a kick listening to him and envisioning him as a giant rooster.
