This is the first Flintstones production where Fred wasn't voiced by Alan Reed, the original voice actor. He died that same year, and the role was taken over by Henry Corden, who'd already been providing Freds singing voice for the '66 movie.

Corden also did Fred’s voice at length in many of the Hanna-Barbera Records releases prior to 1977, but I think his first time doing Fred in animation was in interstitials for the syndicated series “Fred Flintstone and Friends” which premiered earlier that year.

For A 70's TV special, the animators did A surprisingly good job here. This is almost on par with Hanna-Barbers'a output from the early 90's.

Given the time spot they probably got a slightly bigger budget compared to the Saturday Morning shows. Scooby Goes Hollywood is another example of more smoother animation compared to the series.
