He's already made it clear that he's retired from directing these. He's written an entire script (The Wasteland) that he'd like to produce and hire a director for and a rough outline for ANOTHER Mad Max script that he's contemplating turning into a novel. Honestly, I doubt the movie will happen, but I'd love a novel or two. Ends up Fury Road was an utterly miserable experience for him, which is why Furiosa had so much more green screen and CGI - he was too old to go through it again.

They purposely don’t, because like the other commentator said, people will just end up trying to one-up each other, and people will end up dying. Stunt people have already died in the past - they don’t need more pressure. Perhaps if the award was for “safest stunt”, then maybe?
@Loggodover3 ай бұрын
Ok I'll reiterate. I'm not saying make an award for the most death defying movie stunt. I'm saying there should be an award for the movie with the best stuntWORK. Meaning stunts with the best implementation of said stunts (example you can have a poorly shot movie and randomly cut to someone jumping off a building and that wouldn't win an award. But something like mad max or a John Wick movie with less impressive stunts but better implementation would)

The level of dedication and craftsmanship is breathtaking but it’s also a fact that a lot of these shots ended up looking artificial and not as „grounded“ as George specifically wanted them to be. And I think this peak behind the scenes helped me understand that this may have been a compromise for ensuring the safety of the stuntmen. I think Fury Road had more „manageable“ stunts and therefore didn’t need to be touched that much in post, while Furiosa had much more crazy stunts in concept, which in consequence required much more safety rigging, wires or studio shots that later had to be polished and edited with CGI.

Obviously Furiosa has more CGI than Fury Road but even so it is incredible what was really done and you can see that despite the current limitations due to risk regulations in films, George still makes an effort to make it as real as possible. @thisbubblygoodness76113 ай бұрын
@@lornemalvo5833 the replacement of Australia's deserts make sense, if Beyond Thunderdome was made today or if Fury Road was filmed in Australia instead of Namibia, both films would have as much cgi background 'replacement' as Furiosa does. it makes sense to me, Mad Max 1 and 2 always implied that they were dystopian stories with fallen societies, but its not until Beyond Thunderdome that nuclear war erupts and turns Australia sand-swallowed.
