The screenwriter for Alto Knights is Nicolas Pileggi, the same guy who wrote the books for Goodfellas and Casino as well as their scripts. Not to mention, the lead producer on Alto Knights is Irwin Winkler, who also produced Goodfellas, Raging Bull, The Irishman, as well as a great number of other crime classics from the 70s onward. So yeah, basically all the talent that was invested into helping Martin Scorsese make his films is also being invested into this movie.

There was Bobby "The Ace" De Niro, the cool one who always had a plan. Then there was "Funny Guy" Bobby De Niro, who’d crack a joke one minute and stare you down the next. Let’s not forget "Big Bobby" De Niro, who ran the whole operation with a cigar in one hand and a scowl that could freeze a room. Even the delivery guys? All De Niro. And the guy who parked the cars out front? You guessed it: Bobby De Niro. The best part was, they all had that same look-that smirk, that squint, that way of saying everything without saying a word. Every time you turned around, there was another Robert De Niro, doing what Robert De Niro does best: running the show. And I wanted to be just like them.
