From director Clint Eastwood comes “American Sniper,” starring Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history. In theaters December 25th.
www.americansnipermovie.com/
/ americansniperofficial
U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend.” However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.
Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the spirit of the SEAL creed to “leave no one behind.” But upon returning to his wife, Taya Renae Kyle (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.
A two-time Oscar nominee for his work in “Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle,” Cooper heads the cast, which also includes Sienna Miller (HBO’s “The Girl”), Jake McDorman, Luke Grimes, Navid Negahban and Keir O’Donnell.
Oscar-winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood (“Million Dollar Baby,” “Unforgiven”) is directing “American Sniper” from a screenplay written by Jason Hall, based on the book by Chris Kyle, with Scott McEwan and Jim DeFelice. The autobiography was a runaway bestseller, spending 18 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, 13 of those at number one.
The film is being produced by Eastwood, Robert Lorenz, Andrew Lazar, Bradley Cooper and Peter Morgan. Tim Moore, Jason Hall, Sheroum Kim and Bruce Berman are serving as executive producers.
The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Oscar-nominated director of photography Tom Stern (“Changeling”); Oscar-nominated production designer James J. Murakami (“Changeling”) and production designer Charisse Cardenas; Oscar-winning editor Joel Cox (“Unforgiven”) and editor Gary D. Roach; and costume designer Deborah Hopper.
Opening December 25, 2014, Warner Bros. Pictures presents In Association with Village Roadshow Pictures, A Mad Chance Production, A 22nd & Indiana Production, “American Sniper.” The film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

Its amazes me how much people disrespect soldiers nowadays. Before the 60's people thanked soldiers for risking their lives but today, if you go to war people treat you like a murderer and a useless human being. That right there just shows you what kind of fucked up world we are sadly living in. A guy goes on tour multiple times, gets shot multiple times, has been in over 9 IED attacks and still goes back... Then a movie is created about this amazing man, Chris Kyle. Then guess what happens...People say they are glad he is dead and that he was a murderer etc. Please grow the fuck up.

***** Let me just say, my cousin was in Afghanistan for 4 years, never once did he protect an oil well or anything that was making anyone rich. Get your facts straight you hipster dumb ass. We invaded Iraq, not for oil, because Sadam wanted to do the same shit that he did in the late 80's attack Kurds and get nuclear weapons to attack us. We moved the war to Afghanistan because we had intel that Osama was behind 9/11 and was planning many more attacks on American soil. There is nothing about our war in the Gulf that has anything to do with getting money you dumb motherfucker. Go shoot yourself in the head because you are too much of a incompetent waste of space to be alive any longer.

Chris Kyle is one of my heroes next to my Dad and Ronald Reagan. He understood what Reagan said that freedom is never more than a generation away from extinction, it has to be protected, fought for, and handed on for the next generation to do the same. All you people who are saying Chris Kyle isn't a hero are cowardly. Try saying the same thing to a serviceman or Chris Kyle's family. I guarantee you if his brother, Jeff, doesn't kick you ass first his wife, Taya, will! These men fight for our freedom today against these Radical Islamic terrorists who wish to destroy the American freedom we have today. As Bush said "They can shatter steal, but they can't shatter the steal backbone of America." I know God has a place for Chris Kyle in His heavenly kingdom and may he continue to bless his family.

Where would America be, I am so proud of these Men who gave their life, sacrificed everything so that I may go to school, learn about my religion, and be with my family. I just got back from seeing this film. Better damn good. I love Clint Eastwood's directing and he does a good job showing the seriousness and horrors of war. I think people are criticizing this for the wrong reason. I don't believe Chris Kyle was a hero and I don't think he saw himself as one either. It is like he said, he was there to protect his Marines and that is what he did.

Is Chris Kyle a hero? Yes, to Americans. Is Chris Kyle a monster? Yes, to the people of Iraq. But the ultimate question is : Was the war in Iraq justified? Everyone knows there were no WMD in Iraq on which the war was based on the first place. This movie is a candy given to American people to ease thier guilt. I'm still gonna watch this movie though.

Maybe you are right White Pride. Does that mean the American government can just make false fabricated reasons to start wars anywhere in the world (without guilt) so American commando and snipers can do some more killing spree to foriegn lands? Chris maybe a hero to Americans. He did his job. But the fact remains those Iraqui people he killed have every right to defend their land against foriegn invaders with false cause (fabricated evidence of WMD). May Chris and those he killed rest in peace. They were all but pawns in that immoral war.

It reminded me of "The Hurt Locker" with a lot more stateside story to it which is every bit as interesting as the battle scenes. I remember being blown away by the Eastwood directed "Flags Of Our Fathers". This movie is very bit as complex & excellent as that movie.

How about a movie about Pat Tillman? He was a real hero who gave up his million dollar contract to put his life on the line for his country. He was often a point man fully exposed to enemy snipers hiding behind shelter or protection. Probably takes more guts to walk up a river bed or climb through rough terrain up a hill knowing there could be an enemy lurking around a corner or possibly an improvised explosive devise at his next step.

Very emotionally impactful film, and it shows how modern warfare has become more and moer a "grey area". Now even if you are the good guy you may be called upon to do horrible things - like shooting a woman and her child to save your comrades. There is much less room for heroism and noble actions. But still it must be done, as long as human beasts roam the earth. And I am thankful we have such men as these soldiers who put their duty to country and humanity above everything else.

Share my thoughts? I say we can say anything we want about our military because they are so good at their job. That is enough, God bless Chris Kyle and his brothers.

I've watched several interviews with Chris Kyle and he seems like a fine person. The media is using his story for their own gain. I worked for a newspaper once, I know what journalists are like, do not trust their versions of every story. If you want to get a feel for Chris Kyle then just watch the interviews of the real guy, it becomes clear he wasn't a bad person at all.

I must see this movie this weekend. There are sooo many excellent films this year. I am not an Eastwood fan at all. But I suspect this is finally gonna make me a Bradley Cooper fan.

this movie wasn't based on how much nudity or action you can put into one, its showing the horror and toll it takes on someone. til you put yourself in chris kyles shoes and go threw what he went threw no one has room to talk i salute all men and women who fight for our country.

I don't think I am alone on this but I believe Carlos Hathcock should have a movie not the most kills but still some of most Amazing kills by any sniper by far. R.I.P Chris Kyle

I found the movie profoundly wonderful. You military people bitching is actually counterproductive to a story that has been brought to the open in Hollywood of all places and not put on the back burner. Be proud of THAT! As an Army Brat for years (Dad two tours in Vietnam), sister of a Navy Vet, sister-in-law to two Navy Vets, mother of an 18 year old child who served the NG in Fallujah, aunt to two Air Force nephews, I can honestly say it's a disgrace for any military serviceman to bitch at all about this movie. Clint Eastwood did the best he could with it. It was a great movie. HOOAH.

I went to see this w/ a sprained knee, brace & all. When it got to the BUDS training sequence, I remember rubbing my knee & thinking, "Gosh, I'm a wuss for complaining over something so small. Look what they went through." You could've heard a pin drop in the theater, when the movie ended. Everyone walked out w/ their heads slightly bowed. I got the book for my birthday a couple of months later. It was so vividly detailed, I felt like I was really there w/ Chris. Now, I wish I'd paid more attention to his appearances on CNN. He was such an incredible man. I'd really like to have met him.

This movie absolutely broke my heart! I definitely had respect for veterans before but after seeing this...speechless...I could never EVER communicate my feelings for them or what they have done.... And it makes me SO FUCKING SICK that our government doesn't take care of them all like they promised! Thank you to all of the veterans...thank You.
