Recently come back to this song. I remember around the time it came out myself and 3 mates would have a lock in at my mates dads pub after midnight (we were only 16/17) it was this tiny little pub in a small village but we’d each put money behind the bar and pour ourselves drinks, play cards, pool, drink and chat shit til the late hours of the morning. We’d play a bit of music on the soundsystem and this song was kind of the soundtrack to those nights. Just four mates in a crap village, same old shit every day, drinking our Friday nights away to a melancholy but beautiful song. Really nostalgic to listen to this again

this is the story of 90% british pop bands, they stay for 4/5 years in the indis has an underground band, then they become famous with a single of a (new-ish) album. they start opening big concerts and touring all over the world, they release a album that gets at top 10 and supossedly "sky should be the limit" but no . they open a big haitus with no album ,the team stop doing shows and they they break up because of "artistic differences" and never again we heard of the band besides the songs that stay in hour memories from the times we listened to them .
@TalesOfWar4 жыл бұрын
I think it was largely down to the fact indie fell out of favour with the mainstream. A LOT of bands from around this time vanished into obscurity, not many made it out with the same kind of sound they went in with. Hard-Fi were another amazing band that sufffered the same kind of downfall.
