I owned the beats fit pro for just over about 5 months and with average wear they are damage. The cost to repair is almost the same as a new pair. No other videos on youtube address this issue. If you own a pair of Beats Fit Pro or are planning on purchasing a pair please watch this video.

I had a problem with the charging case during 5 months of purchase and sent it to apple and they came back saying the ear piece had some mesh missing which i don't know anything about and they wanna charge me almost the same price as buying a new one to fix. I told them if the ear piece was the issue for the charging case not working and they didn't really want to answer and said probably not. I just find that Apple being such a global company had just ripped me off and I'm a nobody. The beats were bought for my daughter who has hearing issues and I have lost my trust and respect for Apple and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - shame on them

Some Apple repair centers suck. I did apple tech support for years, next time this happens ask for a senior advisor, a lot of T1 advisors don’t know what they’re doing and it’s irritating. I recommend getting Applecare for any and all apple products, it’s $29 for headphones and for physical damage they’ll repair it for $29 twice

This sucks! I would go back to your Apple Store and ask to speak to the manager. I’ve had issues with other products that the normal workers say they can’t help with. I talked to the store manager and they have always made things right.

I was targeting the Beats Fit Pro soon but now I’m worried because just like your video, I too saw quite a few Reddit posts complaining about this problem. No one likes spending so much money on a product and have it break after just a few months. I wish the wingtips can be manually removed and replaced by the user. It solves a big problem for many people if the wingtips are sold in the Apple store but at a reasonable price. Sadly, that isn’t the case.

This problem just happened to me and I took it to Apple and they gave me the shit about the 1 year warranty doesn't cover the damaged wing. The laughable part was if I wanted to get it fixed, it will cost me $179. I wished there was a video like the one you made last December before I dropped $200 for this poorly made crap.

The wingtip design on my Bose QC buds is much better than the Powerbeats Pro. The Bose are more comfortable and durable and the Bose wingtips can easily be removed and replaced. The issues with the Bose are the battery life is dismal, the sound is balanced but kind of weak on the bass and they are huge. I don't think the Bose have sweat resistance either. The Bose QC buds are massive so I am a little surprised at how comfortable they are. The charging case is massive too. It's like a bar of soap. I got the Bose for free. They were part of a giveaway at my husband's job. The Powerbeats Pro were on sale for half off. The Beats sound better than the Bose to me because I like more volume and bass. I haven't broken the wingtips on the Beats yet. But because of how my ears are, the wingtips have to sort of bend a little more than I'd like them to in order to secure them inside of my ear and the idea of having to do that everytime I put them on had me immediately worrying about their longevity. I don't bend the wingtip in to curve around my inner ear anymore. I leave it out, which is more comfortable. But It's not as likely to stay in like that. I have the Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds, which sound great. They are better than the Beats in terms of noise cancelling and sound quality. But they are not as comfortable as the Beats. Another issue with the Sony's is, beware of the app and firmware updates. Ever since I "upgraded" the firmware on the Sony's, I have had major issues with the battery life. The case takes forever to charge. For a while it wasn't really charging much at all. Now it is still slow to charge and the right earbud overheats and doesn't charge at the same rate as the left bud. So I have a hard time recommending those. My husband gave me a pair of the transparent Beats Studio+. I wanted them just for the nostalgia of that see-through look. I haven't had them very long but so far, they have been pretty decent. They sound pretty good but I have had some others with better sound. The Studio+ buds are probably the most reliable, well-rounded wireless buds I have tried so far. My only concern with those is that over time, the cool clear look might be tarnished by yellowing that happens sometimes with clear plastic. If that is something that might happen, I prefer yellowing over broken wingtips and firmware issues that ruin the battery.

I had almost the same issue of yours Powerbeats 3 in the last wired Powerbeats (4th iteration) the material above the plastic started to crack and eventually started peeling off, exposing both the cable and metal wire por support I guess

Apple refuses to actually repair these for anything. All that lip service about the environment and their best solution to this is to throw them away and sell you a new pair. If they can’t even do a repair to the outside housing, they sure as fuck are not repairing anything else on the inside. Fuck them.

Same thing just happened to me. Had the Beats Fit Pro since it launched in Nov 2021. I exchanged the then new AirPods 3rd gen for the Beats Fit Pro exactly because the wing tips stayed on my ears much better. I rarely used mine and never used it to work out so I was devastated to see the tear on both wing tips 20 months later when it was already out of warranty. Good thing the wing tips didn't completely tear off so I will try to salvage them with shoe glue. I'm so disappointed though.

I had the exact same problem with the wing last week. I also had the exact same problem with apple customer service. I'll never buy another apple/beats earbud again. Luckily I bought them at Costco so today I went to Costco and told them how Apple customer care treated me so Costco gave me a full refund for the trouble I had with Apples shitty customer service. And that is a FULL refund after I purchased them on 12/15/21. Costco customer service is phenomenal but apple is a Fing joke.

Aside from some hate in the comments, I like your video, really good feed back. I was wondering did you happen to remove the rest of the wingtip? I was considering doing that to mine but don't want to damage the actual earbud. I expect it will look alot like the beats studio buds. And honestly the wing tips annoy my ear and stick just out side anyways when I have a comfortable fit. So just makes sense to remove.

Thanks, I haven’t removed the rest of the wingtips. I stopped using these but I keep them in the car as a back up pair in case I don’t have any earbuds. I haven’t touch them since I made the video. I was thinking about doing that.

Happen to me. Wingtip broke for no reason at all. Crazy cause I sold my air pod pros for these. And it’s not possible for those to break like the beat fit pros. But I just glued the wingtip. But I have ocd and like things looking new. I just can’t look at them the same.

Hey man so I’m facing the same issue as you. I had them since release day and the wing tip is ripped on one side. I love these ear buds a lot too as they pumped great audio quality. Just talking on it sucks but that’s not what I used them for. Also yeah it sounds about right with the pricing on the repairs. Big no no for me man I just want to replace the wing tip and use it again

I had my Beats Fit Pro since they first came out. They've been through hell and they're still working. I just (like right now) had to reset them because they weren't pairing with my iPhone 13.

I have a pair. They are great. The best ... How did you treat them (beats fit pro)? Are you easy or hard on them? They are durable if you take care of them ... follow the instructions and gently insert - turn them in the proper direction

I’m not gentle yet I’m not just throwing them around either. I’m telling you these were my favorite earbuds and I haven’t found a replacement that I like as much yet. The powerbeat pro case is just too bulky so I stop just them when working out. I’ve been using my solo pros which I think are the most durable beats headphones ever.

This is quite a long-winded video of you repeating yourself. All you had to mention was the defect and Apple snubbing you. It shouldn't take even three minutes for that. I had the exact same problem, and wondered if there were any videos addressing this integrity issue with these earbuds. Kudos to you for that. However, even though I didn't even know where to began addressing this issue with Apple, I went to their site, set up an appointment at their Genius bar, had the tech order me a new pair that came in three days later, and the problem was solved. I was, coincidentally, at my 5 month mark with my Beats Fit Pro as well. The tech didn't even give me any flack. It was quick and painless, minus the unnecessary drive to the Genius bar...had Apple made a product worth its $200 price tag. I will say that this IS a serious issue, and it's not known enough. Apple is really pathetic for charging $200 for these earbuds when they don't even have a Qi wireless charging case to begin with, and this integrity issue with the cheap plastic they are made out of is also an awful thing. You'd think the relatively cheap charging case would break down easier! I have this ultimatum where I give all of this (usually) over-hyped tech at least a year to hold up by retaining the look and performance as if I just purchased it, and this headset ends up being another failure in that regard. Not even a half of a year in, and this WILL happen to your Beats Fit Pro, and I'm one of those people who baby my belongings and use them as intended! Everything else about these earbuds is absolutely amazing by the way, which is a shame since you can't fully enjoy them due to this awful issue. Anyway...this will be my last pair of Beats ANYTHING; I wanted to like the brand, and I decided to give it a chance once Apple purchased the brand (despite despising Apple otherwise)...in the naive hopes that they would make something out of the brand that would be the antithesis of the cash cow Dr. Dre made it, but nah. Apple is no different, "surprisingly", and they definitely won't allow this brand of their earbuds to outshine their Airpods.
