If your company and business areas don't have written SOPs, your analysis phase will have major holes in it. You'd be surprised how many times I hear this after go live. "Oh yeah, we forget this little procedure that Sally does over in AP." Come to find out it's a massive workflow process that requires significant hand holding and integration with multiple systems. Sally is usually the only person that knows how to run the process and it's not documented anywhere. You just extended the project by another month and another 100k and Sally is usually combative because we are dissecting "her" process and feels threatened.
