It looks like Apple has fixed this issue. According to 9to5Mac the company responded. The company knows about the few recent cases of these phishing attacks and Apple has taken action to solve the problem

You can do this options: 1. Settings > apple id > communication preferences > from there turn off announcements and app,music, tv etc to prevent apple spams 2. Settings > safari > advance > from there turn of privacy preserving ad mesurement to prevent ad tracking. 3. Settings > privacy and security > apple advertising > from there turn off personalized ads to limit apple ads. It works 100% to me without any issues

That will not work as it is a password reset issue. However, it has since been resolved on Apple's server side.

Also never answer unknown numbers you don’t know. If it’s legit and a real person then they will leave a voicemail. Scammers and fakes 99% of the time never leave voicemails. They normally just keep calling back to back using the same method in this video until you give in and answer.

no one leaves voicemails in Portugal since 10 years ago. Absolutely no one. Plus, there are MANY situations were not answering a no known phone can have terrible consequences. Alarm companies uses different numbers each time they call you, when the alarm goes off. Job interviewers call you from numbers you don´t know, and might not leave a messages if you don't answer.

This happened to me last week. Said my gmail and other passwords are in risk. I went in to check and I thought it must be genuine and I should change the passwords. I was a bit low and lazy at that time that I thought I’d do this later and forgot about it. Thank god it all worked out well

@@angelcmr2048 the EU is full of scams though lol. If there is money to be made, there will be scammers to take it, doesn’t matter what consumer protection you got. Talking to a few of my friends who live over in different bits of Europe. they seem to corroborate what the other comments are saying it’s definitely not a US only thing, but it appears that we are definitely getting hit a lot harder over here by this for some reason.

Same thing happened with my apple iphone. The way I solved the problem was turned the phone off took my sim out of it and put the phone in a drawer and bought a samsung phone put my sim in it and no more problems.

Informative video. However, you mention that scammers might call the iPhone user. You neglected to advise us to go to settings and turn on 'Silence Unknown Callers' or even screen scam calls and not answer. Then block the number. Apple will never call any iPhone user unless a call is scheduled with tech support.

Apple should have a waiting time period before they send another authentication notification to the user... lets say one notification every 10 min, this way is more manageable to solve the problem by changing personal information

I didn’t get those exact warnings. My warnings stated something like my passwords were found on the net in hacked areas for various sites like Google and some bank apps I don’t use . I just ignored them. Found it odd that I’d get a bunch of them. Anyone else get a similar message and not the ones shown in this video? Hopefully Apple will address it and solve it.

Limit the password change requests to 1 per day, they way you will need to call iPhone to get access to account, also register the up address request came from. Apple then could compare to your actual up address and bar white or black list specific up adress form using the password reset page.

Yes, because when you set your security keys, no more Apple code is used as 2FA. I use yubikeys in my Apple ID. But you need at least 2 of them.

No I’ve had no issues so far whosoever tries me to give information over the phone I don’t give it I am using an app to identify fraudulent phone callers not in my contact list, and I send to spam any unknown email that I have not allowed in my email! To maintain overall stability & security. That does not include interim threats from scum working around the clock to dupe careless iOS users. Thankfully, Apple doles out timely & effective iOS updates. As long as we update when Apple prompts us, we should be safer than most.

Use security keys to lockdown your iCloud account. That stolen device protection seems to be a great way to further protect ourselves. That said, I’ll not run out panicking, screaming of fear because there’s nothing to fish for using security keys and if YOU don’t give away any information.
