Chevy(5.3/6.2)Ford(6.8/7.3)Ram(5.7/6.4) all have lifter issues because they put variable oil pumps with reliefs that drop pressure at idle for the sake of efficiency. I physically deleted the cylinder deactivation in my truck and it still failed with normal lifters. Not only is the base pressure lower at idle, its lower with thinner oil 0W20. My 20 year old 4.3 makes 35lbs at idle, some of these newer engines drop down to nearly 10.
