@ I only got one criticism. When Shrek was in development Dreamworks actually didn’t had faith on it. You made the story sound like everyone wants and love to make shrek but in reality it’s a nightmare that ended off worth it. If it was the production of a new shrek movie then I understand but this is not now shrek was like in production. As a side note when somebody failed making the Prince of Egypt Dreamworks would force them to work on shrek as punishment.

I love how the story uses Shrek's layers as a metaphor for something dark. 🌀

"Some stories never end, they just keep adding layers." That is a good piece of writing describing our relationship with media, film, pop culture, and what is hidden underneath them.

Creepypastas that tend to be of the "Lost Episode" variety, don't usually have something unique to say. At worst, it's just schlocky, and not really worth reading. There are exceptions, but a lot of them are more like what you thought was scary when you were maybe too young to be into internet horror. Now, "Layers", this is a story that I can get behind. Know that when I said most "Lost Episode" creepypastas have nothing unique to say? That was intentional. Layers, seems to have a philosophical undertone to the horror, and it acts as an explanation for the question of, "But why though?" that all too often pervades in these kinds of horror stories, yet it also manages to keep itself mysterious, making you ask questions about what this... entity was. Some of the best horror is achieved when the work in question achieves that oh-so coveted fear of the unknown effect. Humans fear what they don't understand, and the fact that the listener/reader has that reaction in them, while still knowing enough, keeping the mystery an object of intrigue that the narrative uses to it's advantage, makes this a welcome and underrated instant classic.

Wow! Thanks for the kind words. I would have thought it would do better on here but hopefully it will be one of those videos that catches on over time.
@TheProdigalKnight6 күн бұрын
@@FreakyAttractions Yeah, I hope it catches on, you know? Like, Lost Episode-type creepypasta's tend to get a very bad rap, like how a lot of the gaming ones get a very bad rap. Everybody loves to make memes about the one random game or VHS they found in a trash can, or how they found it at this garage sale for free, because the owner was trying to get people to buy it off of him, but one thing I neglected to mention is that "Layers", as I've taken to calling it, seems to avoid a lot of those old trappings and cliches' that people are all too familiar with at this point. We actually get a creepypasta that for once focuses on the creative side of these bizarre productions!

Yes it probably is. I found it on google. I’ve noticed there seems to be an issue with that for some people. Is it a problem? I’m not an artist.
@mentallyfloridian5 күн бұрын
@ yea there’s currently huge debates around it, mostly due to it being trained off of non-consenting peoples art and the environmental impact of it Additionally the whole argument about stealing artists jobs but that doesn’t really apply to this specific situation Glad to hear it wasn’t malicious, but I’d recommend making sure to stay away from it in the future
@FreakyAttractions5 күн бұрын
@@mentallyfloridian yeah I mean Ive heard of those issues but I didn’t think it was like shunned. I have no way of sourcing images other than from the google, so I’m not really sure how you would expect me to avoid it. I don’t have unlimited resources to make this stuff you know.

@@AndrewtheholidayartistYeah, like how Freaky Attraction used it for a thumbnail but used footage of the behind the scenes of the Shrek film. If it was one of "those" types of KZbinrs, they would've had some unnerving A.I vid or fan animations playing while they read the creepypasta.
