I had a dog bite injury January 2021--the deposition for the defendant was January 2024. The insurance company hired a law firm that has been handling the case. My attorney says that the defense is waiting for my medical records. My deposition has been canceled. I thought that all personal injury attorneys get medical records at the beginning of the case. What could be delaying the settlement? Can an attorney settle the case without the plaintiff? Thank you for your videos.

No an attorney can’t settle without you. Not sure why they don’t have your medical records. That’s weird. Does your attorney answer your calls and communicate with you ?

Sir what is a adr alternative dispute resolution .....in NY state auto accident here this lots of time in comments section of many other videos posted on line about auto accident cases and is it common to not offer any kinda of offer till it goes to this adr even in cases with serous injurys and the other party is clearly at fault....see this a a lot can you do a video on this ok thanks

That’s mediation or arbitration. Mediation you can try to settle but it’s nonbinding. Arbitration you’re stuck with whatever the judge decides. I don’t recommend arbitration unless you have to by law. Jury trials are much better

Presents to a judge ? You mean if there is no jury trial ? Then the judge will make a ruling.
