I just had to sub. I am currently at the end of part 3 of your tutorial series. It is incredibly well done, I like the calm yet passionate presentation of the vast knowledge you have accumulated of the game. It is a great help getting into it. Thanks a lot!

The Mark 14 was a torpedo, not a sub. US subs were firing Mark 14 torpedoes in the early part of the war. The problems with the Mark 14 were three-fold. First, the magnetic detonator was not properly calibrated for use in northern latitudes. Second, the contact detonator tended to jam, particularly if the torpedo hit perpendicular to the hull. And third, the depth sensor was located in a low pressure spot making the torpedo run deeper than it was set for. The reason this got trough to production was few torpedoes were being produced and the Navy did not want to "waste" them doing testing. Also, the commander of submarines in Australia was an admiral that had been responsible for designing the Mark 14, and he refused to accept any bad news about "his" torpedo.

Great job as always. Your enthusiasm and detail are always both enjoyable AND valuable. Was interested to see how this stacks up against the obvious GG Admiral's, which has always put me off as daily just seems a little too much. Happy New Year from Aus. 🎆🎆 Cheers p.s. 32:14 obviously you meant Mk 14 torpedoes, not subs; sounds funny pointing out a little later that their subs "didn't explode". I suspect their crews were pretty happy about that, LOL. (note the 1 in 60 coincidence with the time stamp!)

Finding this really helpful. Thanks for taking this approach to the tutorial. You've got just the right amount of detail for a new player to the series.

Great presentation as always. Very much on the fence with this one as unsure about the scale but you may well convince me :-) Interested above all in AI ability.
@A_Toastonawhiteplate3 жыл бұрын
I would use AI to prepare for PBEM so I would be fine with ok AI. But I also would think its terrible hard to make a decent AI for all the possibilities the game allows

The AI in Warplan Europe was not very good. I played once in normal, then always at maxed out difficulty and with AI max logistic bonus.
@peek1013 жыл бұрын
@@tiagoferreira5368 And is the AI competitive with max bonus or still easy to beat?
@tiagoferreira53683 жыл бұрын
@@peek101 With max bonus the AI is harder to beat than on normal, but still it does not pose a real challange in some scenarios. Maybe that's because i was used to play Strategic Command in a high difficulty setting, not max but high. But there are scenarios like the 44 scenario as the Axis and 42 as the Allies that are very hard to beat in max level. Having played SC: Europe at War and Global Conflict i definitely like Warplan more.

When you click on a unit some of the stats that appear on the high left corner appear twice, with different numbers...that’s super confusing. Any idea why?

Wouldn't the Japanese fleet attacking Hawarii be unrecognized by the US? No attack would be possible unless some heavy recon was done, or someone actually believed the radar reports.
