34:15 What a lovely GEICO story! I've read Alice's insightful bio Snowball and info from many other sources. Unless I am mistaken, this is the first time I hear Warren talks about going the extra mile to ask Lorimer Davidson for his personal approval (re tax consequence)! Note to self: Have really good memory of people who've helped you years ago and try your best to do the right thing for them when the time comes.

Hey, Warren. If you think the government should raise taxes so that you pay more on a percentage basis than someone such as your secretary, then why don't you show leadership and give a greater percentage, voluntarily, and without involving anyone else? No one is stopping you from donating everything to the government (or a greater percentage) if that is your interest.

That's because something should be done for the long term and all times to come. Grandstanding does not help. By the way, what he has given away is 37billion dollars for charity.

Marcus, that doesn't really solve the underlying problem (temporarily nor permanently), if Warren donates 100% of his net wealth to the US government.

Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan: - Amount of federal income taxes paid in 2010? Zero. $1.9 billion tax refund. - Taxpayer Bailout from the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department? Over $1.3 trillion. - Amount of federal income taxes Bank of America would have owed if offshore tax havens were eliminated? $2.6 billion. Jail this asshole.
@19billdong96
@19billdong96 9 жыл бұрын
+toasteh And replace him with the bigger asshole who ruined the company and destroyed a large portion of American capital? - Brain was compensated 13 Million, regardless of his taxes, the 1.9 billion tax refund went to BoA, not to the financing a vodka peeing statue of David in Brian's garden - Stop bitching about the bailouts. Be thankful the government grew enough balls to make an unpopular but necessary decision. Banks are a vital part of the circulation of capital. The meltdown we did have is a mild inconvenience in comparison to the devastation of the market we would've had if the banks have been allowed to collapse. Frozen assets, evaporating funds, all that good stuff. - If you're gonna jail CEOs based on the offshore tax avoidance made by companies then you'll be remembered as the asshole who robbed the US of millions of jobs and hundreds of billions of tax revenue. Simply put, almost all major companies do it. The truth is that there are countries willing to compete with the US for its profitable businesses by having lower tax rates. I find it hypocritical for the average American to villainize the big corporations when you are most likely wearing clothing made through Indian child labor, using electronics produced in inhumane sweat shops, and enjoying the economic result of two world wars.
@TravisSevier850
@TravisSevier850 9 жыл бұрын
+toasteh He isn't the douche who made the laws. Be upset with the government. They are the ones who gave your tax money to a private business that should be allowed to fail if they don't make the right decisions. They are also the ones who make the tax loopholes for certain groups of the economy. If they had the balls to tell business men "fuck off, we wont be bought" we would be a lot closer to having a free market.
@tovsteh
@tovsteh 9 жыл бұрын
Travis Sevier I don't blame your government for being infiltrated by a private sector of banksters with no business ethics what-so-ever. The government is supposed to represent you, so do your research on whoever you vote for and help clean this shit up. This is what happens when you vote for pro-corporate America republicans, or even Trump/Hillary Clinton. These assholes do not work for you, they work for Wall-Street.
@TravisSevier850
@TravisSevier850 9 жыл бұрын
+toasteh so you only blame the people who offer the money to the government and not the people who take it? they are both corrupt but there will always be people trying to infiltrate the government. It's there job to say no we are employed by the people not you. Instead they pass crazy laws so the average guy is forced to get butt raped by the banking system. Both are corrupt but one is supposed to work for me and protect me from the others corrupting so in my eyes they are at fault. Doesn't mean the bank owners aren't assholes but if there is an advantage of course they are going to use it.

Already 10 minutes into watching the event, I have already lost interest in watching it.I can agree that Warren Buffet's efforts in capitalizing on investments and being a conservative investor has made him a worthy candidate for free market prominence. But when you have a fiat-money system that provides endless supply of money, backed by nothing but empty promises, and guarantees high returns at the expense of extremely high risk which is what you all are.That boils my water to the point where I lose reasons to give for why these figures should be praised. I believe in a Gold Standard, I believe in sound money, and also believe in no inflation. Which in this economy is very unlikely but again that is why I will never surrender my humility to these people.They want more monetary heroin, they want you to being taxed and regulated so that they don't have to. You fools. You make the worse off when you praise these individuals when you should be thinking about why there aren't lobbying to get rid of Dodd Frank which is a entrepreneur worse nightmare. How Warren Buffet invest money into companies that work hand and glove with communist China.How Brian Moynihan CEO secretly funds money overseas to finance wars that kills millions of people every year. How stupid do you want to be till you realize that your the puppet playing to the tunes of the puppeteer?
