Yes, inflation looks to be persistent at current levels through 2023. This inflation seems to be a lagging consequence of the money printing that started in 2020 and is still ongoing. The risk is that interest rate increases will pull the economy into a recession, causing stagflation. The government wants to inflate away the debt and try to blame inflation on someone else. No politician wants to be the bad guy and pay the piper (debt), so instead we print. Which is worse... higher taxes or lower purchasing power? We won't avoid both. Thanks for the quality videos New Money.

Warren Buffet is correct. Anything over 20:1 P:E is a no go. You'll never make it back over inflation with regular market downturns. Fed needs to make the prime at least 5%. 6:15 - Lump sum investing (putting it all in at once) AND then continue to DCA afterwards, is more effective. If you have a big sum of money, but you START by DCA, you are basically trying to time the market, because you think that the future will be better to invest money, rather than doing it now. The real problem is lack of financial education. The general public has gotten too used to the government taking care of them. Stimulus is fine, if everyone uses it responsibly. Inflation doesn’t happen if people produce and don’t overconsume. People don’t need to worry about how much their employers are going to pay them if they know how to start and run their own businesses. The general public is obsessed with blaming the government and mega-corporations while just seeing themselves as helpless entitled victims. That mentality only makes them more dependent on those two entities. This country was never meant to be government run.

I tried Buffet investing and found the opportunity costs were way too high, sitting on a pile of cash on the sidelines of a rampant decade long bull market is just a bad idea. You have to find investing solutions that work where valuations are high because the Fed is constantly saving the markets from hard landings. Have patience and wait for undervaluation is just not practical advice these days. Maybe now with the arrival of stagflation he might actually get to spend his pile of cash. I eventually gave up on "investing" because I realised it was just "long term trading". So I decided to learn trading properly and arrived at trading multiple mechanical stock trading systems which average about 20% p/a (20%-25% maxDD) which is adequate performance. If you can't be bothered with that then I think index funds are really the best place to be.
