@@mienafriggstad3360 I don’t understand this, I know there was a move to decriminalise polygamy in Utah a few years back but his marriages at the time were still illegal, Why in the heck is he allowed visitation from multiple wives ? The 1 wife able to provide legal documentation fine, but others. Knowing he’s an abusive manipulative cult leader. This should be happening .

Their interview with the CPS worker who was there is one of the most interesting and insightful things I’ve watched (and rewatched) in the last few years. It made me realize how much we need to include CPS in our conception of who first responders are, and give them the appreciation and respect they deserve.

there are many teams working internationally. Research, advising etc. goes on for years most of the time so the Frontline CPS,law enforcement etc. can help with compassion. The general public has no idea the commitment silent angels put in. Times change, policies change, laws for better or worse change. Just always and forever remember in your mind, body and spirit...do no harm. If you know someone is in harm....act!!! Even if it is to alert someone else who can put wheels in motion. love and blessings 😊

I lived in Page, Arizona, years ago. We knew about Colorado City. The men actually built half of our house. Last week I was in Cedar City and saw women and girls at the Walmart. I just wanted to go tell them, "You are in a cult." But I know that won't help. I just have compassion for them. I wish I could do something. Keep sharing the truth. I think that is the right thing to do and will help some people.

We went and tried every baby carrier in the aisle to see what our babies liked best. The sling worked well for us (the one with two rings and a padded piece). We kept one in each vehicle and one sized for each of us at home. I also made myself a nursing pillow (the big C ones) that I added a strap to so I could get up from the computer while holding the pillow and baby with one arm because the pillow would stay up.

I well remember the trouble the FLDS Church in Bountiful, BC caused our Canadian government. Our sense of religious freedom is less formed than it should be, so the tensions between those freedoms, particularly polygamy, and the law appeared to be unsolvable. They couldn't make charges stick. That is, until y'all requested extraditions for sex trafficking... Then the solution was obvious for our authorities. So thanks for that!!!

I fully understand why Sam says the investigation surrounding the children in particular was mishandled but man, I have so much sympathy for the army of social workers it must have taken to interview and place hundreds of children. To not only have to convince these traumatized kids they can talk to you, they can trust you, but then scramble to find placements for SO many! That had to be such a stressful undertaking that required multiple agencies and organizations working together. While it's probably safe to assume a social worker's education/training includes extensive knowledge of handling traumatized kids, somehow I doubt it includes specifically how to approach handling HUNDREDS in one case. I don't know for sure of course, I'm not a social worker myself. It's just such an unusual situation though I just don't see any textbook or guidelines or protocols giving directions to these people. I'm sure they managed the best they could given the circumstances and resources available to them.

I've always wondered what his plan was with all the very young children he brought to Zion. I'm sure some of them he planned to make his wives, but overall I can only guess he wanted even more control over them by isolating them from the outside world even more than his other followers.

I mean this question with no disrespect but as Jeff’s got more and more twisted “revelations” how did he not just lose all of his followers? How can “God” go from wanting everyone to love and procreate (even young children) to shaking hands and not even being allowed to hug a child and people just accept this as “revelation”. Is it fear and shame that their whole life has been a lie or do they really believe?

It's also taught in Mormonism that following the prophet is more important than following the scriptures. The prophet is living and can adapt to the current times. So if you didn't, you were seen as unfaithful. And for the FLDS that meant they would take your kids, take your house, take your documents, and kick you out to fend for yourself

Just remember 😂in these types of churches girls arent really children. They are young women once they start walking and talking. They are adults once they start menses. This is the logic that allows young women to be married off as young as 10. They are adults.

In my opinion, her description using an HOA with only 1 abuser is not a good analogy. In an HOA not affiliated with anything, there are people of all walks of life living in separate homes who have completely different cultures and belief systems, races, etc. all with individual "thoughts" per se. And in that HOA, there is 1 pedo, so very appropriately, only the 1 pedo and his child are affected. In THIS situation with WG, it is 1 culture, 1 belief system, 1 HIVE MIND of a deeply indoctrinated insular population, who are all working to "churn" all women and children into highly inappropriate fates. This, in my opinion, is why the authorities felt it was required to gather all children now and ask questions later. It's not the authorities' fault these kids had already been yanked from their prior homes and traumatized already. That is obviously a part of the problem. Very disturbing.

YFZ ranch was NOT the hunting grounds. It was a completely separate property. They did raise some of the young herd there because they were very expensive. This is why only people who have first hand knowledge should be doing interviews and keep to what you know first hand (which is plenty and just as bad)
