Yep, should work great and get you quicker results.

± You must work faster then the glue. Sometime it's hard to align and you have to remove "old glue" and try again "(- . -)"

How do you learn? By doing. Go ahead and make a short, test bridge. Make a longer bridge. Experiment! Read up on trusses, and learn how they work. Modify the design, don't just copy it.

Suggestions: Introduce the concepts involved in truss construction. Don't just show how. Explain why. What makes it a Warren truss as opposed to a Howe or Pratt truss. Work on a contrasting surface, beige sticks on white are nearly invisible.

Yes! You can definitely use a hot glue gun. We opted for Elmer's glue since that was the safest option for young kids using our boxes.
