Love reading the comments of those who love Warren. I've been on board since 1976 when I was the music director at a small radio station and received a demo of his 1st album. We didn't incorporate anything into our playlist, but I took the album home and wore the grooves off it. He's been my favorite artist for 45 years and will continue to be 'til MY ride shows up.

Are you referring to his second self titled album that was recorded in 1976? I am a big Zevon fan, but the first one is truly for huge fans only.

Oh...WARREN...!!! I cried like a baby listening to your opening song...I am a full-blooded Cajun whose parents uprooted and moved out West as a small child. I haven't heard that song since my Gran'papa held me on his knee and sang it to me, his husky Creole voice in my memory sounding very much like YOURS. I KNEW there was a reason I worship you as I do...despite what I've read of your lineage, I believe deep down in your soul, you are at least a soupçon Cajun...it's a compliment, Irreplaceable One...my Golden God Of Music....Merci beaucoup, Mon ange, for the beautiful memory...my Gran'papa...and YOU..

Warren wrote about this concert in his diary. He mentioned how fun it was to play the guitar parts, and how he especially enjoyed playing with Neil. He said the piano didn't do too well and he got a little lost in the old songs. He also mentioned that he met Paul Simon backstage and interacted with him again at the airport on the way home. He mentioned a funny encounter in eddie van halen's dressing room where when eddie was changing he said not to look or you won't be able to sleep.

Why are many of our greatest and most inspiring Musician/Artists dying conspicuously ahead of retirement or old age? Like Morris (52)& Robin (62) of the Bee Gees, Warren Zevon, Tom Petty, Donna Summer, Natalie Cole, Joan rivers, Whitney, (48) Marvin Gaye, John Lennon (39) +-many many more. They all seemed to go into the hospital for surgery, then succumbed to a fatal condition. These stars can certainly afford the best of Health Care. TRUE, some are Drug overdoses, like Janis, Jim Morrison ,Jimi Hendricks, Amy Weinstein, Andy Gibb, ect, its not only Tragic, we miss them, It looks like the Doctors and Hospitals aren't saving their lives the way the claim they could.

He died Sept. 7th 2003. Digonosed August, 2002. He was expected to live 3 months so he made it over a year. So if your asking if he knew he had cancer, obviously not. This concert was in 1993. Around 9 years before he was diagnosed.
