Biggest regrets, not seeing Zevon or Talking Heads live.

I saw Zevon live in Pittsburgh in the early '90s, I think, at a very small club, sat like 200 or so - I can't even tell you where it was, my college roommate got the tickets. She still lived in Pittsburgh, I was in grad school by that time in another state. Anyway, we were at a table right in front of the stage (we had also seen the Ramones and R.E.M. when we were in college in small venues, but Zevon, that was the smallest venue ever). You'd never know he was the rock star he was from that intimate a setting. His piano was almost at the edge of the stage. That was a cool night.

Thanks, but these are Linda Ronstadt's slightly altered lyrics. She inserts "these boys" where Warren writes and sings "these young girls," and changes all "she's" to "hes."

Did you ever listen to the original version? Or, try searching for the original lyrics? Also, in THIS version - as with many concerts - Zevon didn't even sing the 3rd verse that he recorded in the original recording, either. It's his song, so that's his prerogative. Ronstadt, whose lyrics you posted, did make this a hit for the 2nd time, however, you should try listening to a song before posting lyrics. Those aren't Zevon's lyrics.
