Hi. That was a such a great show on WNJ -YT channel. Totally surprised with the High end quality home at such a low price. So for about $150K (cost + furnishings) you have a move in ready place near the beach and amenities. To top it all the restaurant food price was ridiculously affordable ( of course speaking from US perspective and not to offend the locals). Thanks for enlightening us with such valuable information and content showing what is available out there. Great Job WNJ. Our Best wishes to the couple with their new home and life in Turkey. Looks like I see you guys going for the Turkish dream?

We love Turkey and are planning to look for properties either in Istanbul or Antalya region in June.. This video in particular was quite helpful.. It was interesting to know that you pay taxes on the amount that the seller reports to the government.. Good to know that especially if you are trying to get citizenship by investment.. Looking forward to more videos! 👍

The 18% is VAT (Value Added Tax) and is not the realtor's income tax. So it's normal that you pay it as that is going to be an invoiced expenditure in return for a charged service.

I love the point that Kara brought up at the end of this video. She said on the deed, the seller shows a lesser sale price, so the seller pays less tax. This immediately tells me the real estate dealing system is a crooked system. Another problem that I have observed about buying or selling a real estate in Turkey is that they don't have an escrow system. If you want to buy a property, the seller wants to see the money in his/her bank account, before signing the deed to be transferred under the buyer's name. This is very risky. What if the seller does not even signs the deed transfer documents? What if the deed is a fake deed? Overall, I think when it comes down to buying/selling properties in Turkey, their system is a stone age system; they are way behind and they leave a lot of room for problems. In fact, I have heard that in order to go around this kind of problems, the buyer brings suitcase of cash to the deed office, and even they have some money counting services. That's right, you read correctly. There are some people that the buyer or the seller hire to count the huge amount of cash, for a fee. I hope that the Turkish government decides to move to the 21st century and does something about this huge problem.

You must have one window office in Antalya with different languages speaking staff so we can invest in real estate in Turkeyi . It is very hard for us to runs from one office(Tapu) to another TRC ( Office ) and to third (eDevelt) office. If we ask for help from Turk, he ask money.

@@NULifeRetiringAbroad the best thing is to rent a place and live for a year or two, learning some language, understanding the culture and market before buying anything anywhere. I'm not sure about the price of this particular property. Prices depends on many factors; the city, distance from down town, road networks, neighbourhood, street, building quality, amenities, neighbouring areas, climate etc. But in general foreigners coming from US and west pay more than the locals.
