You are right in 2015 at 58 years old single, I decided to quit my business, gave everything away and left for Spain, met my husband there and we are on a slow travel since 2016. This is the best decision that I had ever made as you can't buy time and it is cheaper than staying in the states. Jay , we think like u.

@@judymckee5992 thanks for the insight. I’m considering a slow travel for about a year or two before finding a new place to call it home. I am wondering how long can my wife and I last? Ideally, I’d love to keep traveling for 5-7 years. Is it hard on yourself to keep moving around?

Off topic, how old are your little dogs. We have a 19yo Jack Russell Terrier called Reg, we just love him. We had a Golden Retriever, Ella, who passed at 16yo and always imagined we'd have bigger dogs until Reg found his was to us as an abused rescue 14 years ago. Sadly his days with us are numbered, but he has been such a super little dog. Your two just look so happy coming along with you everywhere :)

Oh big time. 3 months cost us $6500 USD in Saranda. We are on track for the $26k per year estimate. We could spend less than we do and stay more at home but we like to go out during the day. I bet we could cut $500 USD a month out of our budget if need be. Anyone with the financial resources at their disposal, should really consider this lifestyle. We miss friends and family but we meet new people all the time... and I can tell you, we wouldn't be living in the places we are living now if we were at home. My staring on my balcony right now at the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. This apartment view would cost MILLIONS of dollars back at home. Here.. $700 USD a month.

@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 8 ай бұрын
Everything is included in their budget, but they have not flown back to Canada recently.
@JayandSarah
@JayandSarah 7 ай бұрын
We paid a grand total of $69 dollars plus tax ($300 total) to fly from Canada to the UK, and another $200 GBP to fly to Albania. When you are retired and not in a rush you can find some amazing deals. But overall, yes this is included in the budget. We do not plan to fly much annually, it's not necessary. Big ticket flights for us this year will be to fly to probably Bangkok, but we will book a return flight to bring us back to the Balkans. Flights or bus between countries here are cheap. Flying around all the time is a budget killer, most people who do this do NOT do that.

How did you get the dogs to be part of the traveling internationally?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 9 ай бұрын
We started off in 2020 with two small dogs. When our eldest chihuahua died there at 15.5 years of age, we adopted a dog from a shelter. We thought she was full grown. When we realized she was not and would be too large to fit in the cabin of a plane we figured out a way to buy a car and register it in Europe. We have now been doing that for 3 years and traveling full time for 4 years.

We have kids back home who are grown adults. If they want to come visit, perfect. We might go home once every 2 years to see people. You have to make sacrifices in life, it's short. Faced with an expensive cost at home that would require us to possibly continue to work, or being able to retire early (early 50's) and travel the world.. it was an easy decision. There is no need to be sitting around near adult children, I would encourage then to be free and travel as well.
