Always feel bad for bert in this moment. He isn’t broken like reiner, he is constantly feeling the weight of his actions and you can tell in this moment he didn’t want to kill his friends, reiner forced the issue.

the moment those two became my favorite characters in the whole series, especially reiner; (right behind levi the obvious goat) so much depth, and the way they do the reveal here is perfect because reiner legitimately thought nothing of it, until he snapped out of “soldier” mode. its like you know hes telling the truth but you still dont believe it until they actually shift. 10/10 episode

yes! this episode is def one of my top 5 in all anime I've watched so far but I felt the opposite the first time I watched this episode. I remember back then I already had a hunch that reiner is a titan and this episode solidify that, and this is when those two become my most hated character. which is very funny after finishing the show because I was feeling like Eren at that time. The moment Reiner become my favorite is when he is being haunting from his past sin. Bertoldo thou, I think it's way at the end before I forgive him. I laughed at myself after finishing the show because I realize how close minded I am, looking only as the eye of the mc and not to the whole😂 Edit: Also, how new viewers can like them at this point? If not mistaken we don't see any scene explaining their side, up until this episode all we saw is Reiner being a big brother to them, but he betrays and talksht them which is very hating right? you will appreciate this episode, like Reiner more, if this is your rewatch but as a first time watcher, I don't understand how can someone likes them to this point.

True, but if you think about it is somewhat on purpose on part of the creator, even Bert says in season 3 "Did you think the timid Bertholdt would just cry?" (something like that), plus eren calls him a lackey too, meaning until now he has always just been "that guy" besides Reiner... No presence!

I always love to point out that, for all this fandom likes to call Mikasa a robot (or "slave") or claim that she only cares about Eren, it's so obvious that she hesitated. She could not bring herself to outright kill either one of them. She easily could've killed at least one of them if she wanted to.

she wouldnt kill reiner that man did some lightning quick neuro transfer shit from his brain to the rest of his body when levi stabbed him in the neck, she would have to get bert first but reiner would stop her like he did here
