I wear a warrior glove, and I asked the same thing to the person working the goalie dept. in the location I was at, and he said it was short for better mobility, because with long cuffs you’re getting less of that. It felt weird at first but I love it now!

Again, I'm blown away how much customization there are today. I remember looking into the goalie gear magazines in th early 00's and you had like 5-6 general options, 4-5 color- and 2-3 size options available. Would love if other brand reached out and asked you to review some products and let you go through their customizations.

Only gripe with my G5s is the thigh rise is getting floppy and i cant find glove palms if i had a gun to my head. If warrior wants to push the removeable palm thing they really need to make them more accessible.

Lots of good information in there. I'm curious about the slide plate. Is it soft plastic and how easy/hard is it to install on another pad, say a Warrior GT Pro? For the 2 piece pad, the soft bottom break is for the pad's boot area? Also, any chance you can go a little deeper or show exampled for the calf wrap options (inner and outer)? Cheers!

I want to see what they do with the blocker internals, I have a bauer now but I really like the removable palm to wash it and the bauer glove is really tight on me. If they could get a bit more pop off the board, it would be a no brainer.

The NHL needs to throw out the bull shit rules supporting monopolies! If a Goalie wants to wear Warrior or any brand they feel comfortable wearing, they should. As long as the equipment meets all the specs when it's sent to the NHL offices, that's all that should matter. Forcing these companies like Warrior to pay incredibly large sums of money to be in the NHL is harmful to the sport. At least lower the minimums to be in the NHL to a more acceptable level. I'd love to see how many goalies would wear it if the rules weren't in place.

Its called marketing, and marketing is NEVER free, its nothing personal. Most pro Woman and beer leaguers are the majority in Warrior, and seeing this 2022 gear, its going to stay that way.

@@No_Fear_33 wondering if you read the comment Goalie Dad. Nothing was said about nor inferred to as “free”. And despite who may wear the equipment, the point is goalies should be able to wear what they feel is best for them at the pro level. The pro level effects the amateur level and affordability to the masses that push the sport. Brown was pushed out and he makes some of the best equipment in history. Lefevbre was pushed out as well and was essentially forced into making a deal with Koho, then Reebok in order to for the best goalies to wear his equipment. Not sure why the NHL decided to make wearing the very protective and necessary gear to play the sport with a money marketing machine requirement, but at the very least, make it more affordable competition and push the envelopes of design engineering. Just my opinion though…

Thats where nothing is free comment is from. thats how society works though. Just choosing to "play in any gear i want" isnt how that or many industries work, even those outside of Pro Hockey.

First off I use true pads and love them, but I disagree with you that warrior pads are unprofessional. I also know for a fact the reason you feel they are is that no pro goalies in the nhl/ahl use them. Which is only because warrior doesn’t pay goalies to where their shit.

@@10dy30 actually not true I don’t believe it’s because not only ahl and nhl goalies don’t use them. I mean almost every junior league and even some Euro leagues like the SHL don’t use them and that is because they are terrible and break down and once they break down the pads get so soft and shots just start finding ways through say the five hole because they are stable or stiff enough. But I mean it’s just mainly personal preference and I just don’t care for them and think they are if not the worst then one of the worst goalie pads and I would never wear them. But if someone else likes them then good for you that’s your opinion
