A… perhaps reluctant closer look at the rabble which is the Farrow.

Addendum - perhaps disappointingly, the last definitive mentions of Lord Carver, BMMD III and Helga, the Conqueror with respect to in-world activity in published lore or fluff was in the Hordes expansion book Devastation back in 2015 (609AR in-world), while there were vague references to them (whether named or not) with the release of the Vengeance of Dhunia cross-faction theme force (which mixed elements of the Trollblood faction and the Farrow in more or less their entirety) in late 2020 (corresponding to 612AR). Consequently, Carver’s canonical fate after his duel against an ascended Barnabas (released in his epic form ‘Barnabas, Lord of Blood’ in 2017) is ‘unknown’, but generally accepted as ‘survived, somehow’. Helga, on the other hand, definitely survived the concurrent battle since it takes place well before the Infernal Invasion and she received an epic incarnation ‘Helga on Wheels’ released for the Riot Quest spin-off game, whose chronology only diverges from that of Warmachine & Hordes at the height of the Battle of Henge Hold. What is mentioned here merely confirms Helga’s survival, while that of Carver is intended to be implied, rather than stated, thanks to the somewhat asynchronous manner in which certain events are laid out. As to the theme force Vengeance of Dhunia itself, there is very little official lore for it, so a lot of what is presented is supposition which is logical to me personally (I welcome other theories concerning the background to that Farrow-Trollblood alliance). Behind the scenes, what becomes of the Farrow in Requiem and ahead towards Warmachine’s MkIV is set, but the finer details are under discussion. Hence, some details are not entirely canonical, at least (hopefully, that is) not yet. Arkadius is not referenced here for no real reason other than his involvement with the Farrow is centred on their warbeasts, rather than their warriors meaning his contributions as concerns the evolution of Farrow warbands is minimal. And Maximus is not mentioned for no other reason than that he is very unique as a Doom Reaver Farrow, and thus not especially pertinent to the discussion of what is common.
