A slightly more detailed look at the armies of Empress Ayn Vanar XI of Khador.

Addendum - regarding the narrator’s viewpoint, namely when that viewpoint is of, needs must it vary from video to video due to the subject in question, more pertinently, the state of Warmachine’s MkIV existing lore, and its imbalance where faction representation is concerned. A little is known about updates to Khador’s armies and the technology they use, but because only they and Cygnar have seen such changes and almost nothing has been divulged concerning the other Iron Kingdoms and neighbouring nations, that will come as part of a chronicle piece rather than a faction focus. Concerning the Black Dragons, the expression ‘to fall back upon the Black Dragons’ is not actually canonical, but rather a fanciful adaptation of what is essentially the same sentiment the ancient Romans of the mid-Republic expressed about triarii. Relatively recent additions to the Man-O-War roster were missed off for no other reason than ‘I forgot’, since I neglected No Quarter Prime Issue 5 as a source (despite artwork from this issue being featured, since this omission was only spotted when parsing archives for art), even though including them by mention alone here would, admittedly, have been straightforward enough. These were the update in their command hierarchy which saw leadership shared between Kommandants Sorscha Kratikoff and Atanas Arconovich, as well as the introduction of even heavier Man-O-War units: the Strike and Suppression Tankers; and the Assault and Siege Chariots. I can only apologise for the oversight.

@@ADGZone You can have a look at maxacorn's channel, he does readings from the source material, though he's had to take a hiatus for IRL stuff, I believe. But yeah, it's a pretty rich setting with plenty which is yet to be explored (Orgoth homeland, Zu, Shattered Spine Islands, Suneater Mountains, etc. a lot of which is still Immoren... heck, even the eastern parts of the Skorne Empire and where the Croaks come from). For a game of this sort of consumer coverage, there's a lot of material to get through (I've repeated some stuff a bit because of topic overlap, but provided there's enough content to suit the format, I could output uploads for years and not get bored).

Not only do I love the history and organization of the armies of the Iron Kingdoms, I also love how the setting handles technological development. The new Man-o-War models, for example, are clearly based on the Tankers that were the pinnacle of steam-powered armor two decades before, and now they're the norm! I hope PP releases a lot more Mk4 lore soon, I want to see you do videos on it!

Technological advancement in minis games is a pretty difficult thing to pull off, and while I don't think there's a 'perfect' way to go about it (because a lot of players come to the game for aesthetic reasons and technology necessarily changes looks in games) I think Privateer have made a pretty decent fist of it. And yeah, definitely, looking forward to more lore/fluff for MkIV (with any luck, I'll be a part of that creative process, too... watch this space).

Among other things, yes. Khador (think steampunk Imperial Russia with a predilection for the colour red) is one of the original factions of the game Warmachine when first released back in 2003, and, as a nation, is one of the larger states within the setting where Iron Kingdoms RPG also takes place.

​@@markfreeman4727 No worries. IMO, the best place to start re: lore for the setting is the IKRPG material. You can find the latest edition (based on DnD 5e) of the game's material at Privateer's webstore, while the second edition (proprietary system, uses the same 2d6 mechanics as Warmachine) content can be found at DriveThruRPG (it's a bit pricy, but goes into more detail about some historic events). [The first edition stuff, DnD 3.x, is sadly OoP, but is a fan favourite.]
