@Kendall MacLeod Maybe, but Fireheart 100% knew since he was planning his apprenticeship himself. Fireheart made a terrible move there. He was stupid to think a deaf kit would have heard him screaming at him to hide. It most likely wouldn't have been a problem if he quickly scooped him up and hid. The hawk would have gone away eventually like they always do. I honestly do not care if Fireheart was panicking. His panicking shouldn't cost someone's life. It's terrible.

Vicky wanted to move Speckletail to the elders' den, thus the author had to kill Snowkit. So, we can say he died because of crappy scenario.

For those who don't know: Snowkit was deaf, he couldn't hear the older cats meowing at him to get out of the way. And why the older cats didn't save him in time was because they were froze, didn't know what to do. Say is easier than action so don't say it wouldn't been easy to run and save snowkit

What happend in the book: "As he looked upward, Fireheart heard the beating of wings and saw a hawk circling above the trees, its harsh cry drifting on the air. At the same time he realized that one cat had not taken shelter; Snowkit was still tumbling and playing in the middle of the open space. "Snowkit!" Speckletail yowled desperately. She was just emerging from behind the nursery, the place where the queens went to make dirt, and she darted toward her kit as soon as she realized what was happening. In the same heartbeat the hawk plunged down toward the clearing. Snowkit screamed as the cruel talons fastened onto his back. The great wings flapped. Fireheart raced forward, but Speckletail was faster still. As the hawk lifted off, she sprang upward and snagged her claws in the white kit's fur. For a couple of agonizing moments both cats dangled from the hawk's claws. Fireheart launched himself into the air, but they were too high. Then the hawk released the kit with one foot and scored its talons across Speckletail's face. The she-cat lost her grip and fell back, landing heavily on the ground. Without her weight, the hawk mounted rapidly to treetop height and flew off toward Fourtrees. Snowkit's terrified crying died away. "No!" Speckletail threw her head back and let out a yowl of pure desperation. "My kit! Oh, my kit!" Brackenfur dashed past Fireheart, leaping the camp wall at a place where the rebuilding had barely started, and vanished into the forest." Thank me later 😌

it is indeed heartbreaking to think of snowkit being eaten by the hawk, his flesh being torn from his little body, although it can also be comforting to know that, although precious snowkit had to die, at least the hawk will live another day and won't have to suffer and starve. perhaps that hawk was a mother too, and she needed to feed her babies. try thinking from the hawk's perspective

Duski Sno I don’t think the whole clan was. Only Bluestar, Fireheart (at the time), Cinderpelt, and Dappletail? Speckletail? Whichever was Snowkits mom. Cinderpelt wouldn’t be able to save him, I think Bluestar was in her dumb state and probably would’ve been like “tHe sOn oF a trAitOr cAn diE” or something. Fireheart has no excuse. His mom tried.

For everyone wondering why the warriors didn’t grab Snowkit, I’m pretty sure a lot of them didn’t know that Snowkit was deaf. Speckletail ran out first to try to grab the hawk and drag it down, but she failed and fell. Fireheart then tried to do the same, but he didn’t get there in time. It has been years since I read the Warriors books, but I vaguely remember Fireheart being angry that he didn’t get there in time. Also, a lot of the warriors were scared of the hawk. Hawks are capable of injuring even adult cats.

For any guestions: Snowkit is NOT Snowfur. Nor does he have any relation to her. Snowkit is deaf, he would've not been able to hear the cats. I believe only Cinderpelt knew he was deaf.. Snowkit was distracted, he couldnt see cats hiding. It would've been too much of a risk to save him.

Satan Actually Cinderpelt said that and told the mother who didnt beleive he should be a med cat so she kept training him but he just rolled over playfully. Later Fireheart was talking to Bluestar until he noticed every cat freaking out. Thats when he yelled out in this video to Snowkit cause he noticed that Snowkit was in the middle of the clearing.

I just read that scene recently. All of the clan cats knew that he was deaf. everyone was too busy trying too save everybody else from the hawk too notice snowkit was still playing outside even his mother thought he was still in the den. but fireheart was the first too notice that he wasn't and the second was speckle tail. fireheart ran too try to save him but speckle tail was faster and held on too her kit and her weight was keeping the hawk from going even higher fire heart try too help but they were way too high. but the hawk was fed up with it and it kicked speckle tail in the face which made her loose her grip and she fell to the ground. and the hawk flew higher after it was free from the extra weight. and disappeared with snowkit in it talons.

What I was thinking while reading Snowkit's death was "OH MY GOD. JUST GRAB HIM AND GET HIM AWAY. HE'S DEAF. HE CAN'T HEAR YOU." But no, the cats were stupid enough to just yell like "SNOWKIT GET BACK HERE YOU'RE GONNA DIE" instead of actually doing something. Like, I get it, Snowkit's death was just 100% for plot convenience and to get Speckletail to move to the elder's den. BUT THUNDERCLAN COULD HAVE BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO EVEN SMACK DOWN THE HAWK AND KILL IT OR EVEN JUST HIDE SNOWKIT FROM THE HAWK. But no, the Erins had to give Speckletail a nudge to join the elders and make Bluestar develop a depression-like disorder.

Okay, I feel like everyone is making a joke out of Snowkits death. Well, alot of the deaths of the series actually. Yes, im honoring fictional cat's, but they still impacted the story in some negative way. You may think Lepordstars death was useful, but it negatively impacted the story. That's what makes a story pleasing. Deaths all have a negative impact to someone in the story, whether you don't think about it. Again, im ranting about respect for fictional cat's, but just hear my point out. Death's shouldn't make a reader 'laugh'. *(Unless you as cold hearted as Hawkfrost, AHEM.)* Well I hope you liked my point! Just hear it out and think, you'll understand why im saying this. What I don't understand is why won't the older cats come out? They act like they're afraid to face the hawk, but they're clearly too big to get carried away. On top of that, at least they're capable of fighting. By the looks of it, at least 3 grown cats were able to fight alongside and save Snowkit, but NOPE. They just stare like this! 8[_______]
