I keep a small stash of AOE weapons I can swap in, just to deal with the rats. It just makes everything so much easier, and it's very satisfying when you can kill a clump of them in one hit.

Thanks for the guide 04AM. Minor thing about the Oils for weapons. If you reach level 7 in the Mysteries and Wisdom paths tree you can apply two oils to your weapons. Looking forward to more Wartales content.

Are you playing on the mode that allows you to out level the area? You're level 7 in Tiltren, and you're pretty much one shotting those rats. The most I can do is 2 outgrowths before I leave.

I quite like spear men to support my tanks. Anything hits my tanks and the spearmen will stab them in response. Granted, this requires they be attacked, and your strat works so well that you rarely get hit.

BONUS HAPPINESS IS CONVERTED TO INFLUENCE??? 😯So many wasted rests... Whoa, I'm playing on easy/region locked now and all the nests have started with 3 times as many rats at the start of the fight. The number of rats could be based on your party size because I have a much larger party.

What level do you recommend completing rat infestations? Seems like you saved the early ones (Tiltren) until high enough level/equipment to 1-shot. Especially if you want to max rewards.

I am ALWAYS short on cloth. Where do I get enough of it?

Yes, the best source seems to be beating up bandits. I think you have to stop every merchant passing by and hope for the best. You need a ridiculous amount of cloth for some items, in particular torches.

The rats don’t randomly spawn, they spawn from the holes in the ground they look like borrows

Can anything be done about the follower debuff from clearing the infestation then resting? Like rat phobia, lowering friendships, and another one causing them to leave the team if we go into another one

Try to keep a stock of influence + alcohol so you can choose which responses have better long term impact. There may be other items at higher levels but at the moment this usually works for me. There's usually an option that costs fatigue and valour points thats only a short term debuff. Eventually you'll also have options to manage many acquired negative traits through friendships and the drinking buddies perk. +3 Friendship is required so you may have to live with it for a while - but it's awesome to finally remove pesky negative traits! You can also leave characters with situational debuffs at a Trade Post or Transfer them to a Tavern whilst your on those tasks.

I have 2 bears that kill the mother and tank all the rat's attack, everyone just scatters and attack the nearest outgrowth

I would suggest not killing the mother asap, first take out all the outgrowths

@@04AMofficial oh yes, the bears get close enough to weaken the mother so that they can kill her at any time- while all the small rats attack them. Everyone else runs off to attack growth 👍

The more members, the more enemies- about 10-20% more on average. So it can become quite time consuming/tedious indeed :P

It's a shame that Shiro has decided that after clearing a rat infestation, they are going to apply some kind of negative result. Unlike other "confessions", these are primarily negative, some of which are quite horrible (e.g. loss of 2 willpower). And it is not keyed to how you do in the infestation. Whether you clear the infestation or not, you will get a negative result. Take 2 turns to clear it or 10 turns, it doesn't matter. That is just poor coding. And yet, you have to do these infestations in order to get the raw materials to make the oils. So why punish the players for doing something that is required? At least with 1.0 you can simply buy the oils (usually 2 different oils per apothecary) although it will take you some time to accumulate enough oil to outfit all of your characters. This is about the only negative thing I can say about this game.
