Warwick, RI Fire Trucks Responding to a Box Alarm

I was on shift at the Providence Canteen in Warwick when a box alarm came in right down the street.

That’s engine 12 and SH 1, along with engine 2 I think and I believe engine 6 and ladder 2

Yup, you got the order correct. Engine 12 was being ran as Engine 8 at some point since there’s currently no piece assigned as Engine 8 (still isn’t). Now Engine 12 is currently in reserved status and Engine 14 is now running as Engine 8.

That first rig looks identical to the former Hooksett, NH Engine

It is. Warwick has had trouble with their. It runs as Engine 8 in Hillsgrove. Their rig is an ALF. O.O.S. for quite some time.

@@owensweetland342 I’ve always wonder what happened to Engine 8, as well as Ladder 1 (before they bought the 1994 Spartan/Duplex from Westerly) to replace the 1998 ALF tiller

@@Squad21Photography They obtained that Engine in early 2020. Few months after Engine 8 was placed out of service, they obtained Hooksett Engine 12 as a reserve engine and temporarily assigned it as Engine 8 in March 2020. Before Engine 12, they used another engine from Haddam MA, which went out of service as well. As of November 2021, Engine 14 is now running as Engine 8.

@@CoolSimasGuythe former E8 had a bunch of mechanical issues and she was just tired so that’s why it went OOS. The former TL-1 (98’ LaFrance) blew a motor and it was worth the estimated $100k to replace the drive train and other broken parts, so that’s why they bought the westerly truck. Then after buying it that truck needed a heavy investment to fix so it seems kinda counterintuitive looking back at it now.
