The Warwick is sounding better pretty much everywhere. I really like spectors too but that Warwick just killed it.

You make great videos with great playing. If you were able to get access to all different makes of basses and compared them, you'd be a constant watch for me. You don't do anything annoying or click-baity, just pure content. Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much! I hope the info is useful. I know I may not have the most visually stunning content, but my goal is to help others get similar impressions of the instruments that I've been able to get. Thanks again for stopping by!

If you don't like the standard humbucker setup on a Spector Euro 5 and it has EMGs, you can swap the front one out for an EMG 40P5, which is basically their P pickup in a soapbar housing, so it's an easy swap. It has the "reverse P" setup as well, you can see that in the installation instructions.

My dream bass for a while has been a Spector like the one in the video! 5 string but with the 4 string PJ pickup layout, what a classic sound :)

Spector just came out with the euro cst line and the 5 string has pj pickups with a new darkglass legacy preamp from my understanding it's a big company clone of the modern haz lab preamp

Spector Tone Pump pre has an internal trim pot to dial back the gain - it comes maxed out as default which can be "a lot"

Great stuff man! Really cool to hear both and yeah, not to compare but just to show off how awesome they are in their own way!!! I exclusively play Spectors. It looks like that model you have may be all maple. The tone pump is an awesome preamp, but if you want closer to the USA models, I’d suggest dropping a HAZ preamp in it or a copy of one. Something like the SNC preamp or the LHZ preamp. Tone of those will get you closer to the classic Spector sound. 👍🏻

@@gsimongear they are my favorite basses! I have had many over the years, but now I have three. I have a USA NS-2, a USA NS-4, and a 1999 euro NS5CRFM. Love them and they are just my sound.

I love both, but the looks and punch of the Warwick puts it over the top for me, despite how cool PJ 5s are.

@@gsimongearthe comparison was something I expected. As being both a Warwick and Spector fan for years. I find there are things I can still learn about both. So glad of that too. It would be near impossible to choose one over the other. I think depends on situation and techniques.

I used to own a bubinga Warwick corvette. Nothing sounds like a Warwick. It was way too heavy though. I'm all Spector now. Both are great instruments!

Nice! As much as I LOVE the sound of the thumb, the weight of bubinga + wenge is a bit much for me. I've gotten spoiled with the lightweight Spector.

Love my spectors but I've played Warwick in the past and agree 100% the cut in the mix the Warwick have but the last one I played was 14 pounds and with my back (I have degenerative disc disease ) isn't feasible to play it for any length of time. Run a euro 5 lt with x series emgs (csx neck dcx bridge) and snc haz which can't be found any more as the maker is no longer making them .

Wow, i found this channel a couple weeks ago. I myself am a warwick player. I was in the market for a thumb bass and watched your custom vs pro series vid, which was great. The one i have my eye on was a 2000 bolt on. I saw this video posted today and could not be happier, i am a streamer player at heart and was also looking at that identical stage 2 you played, same color and everything. Glad there is a video were could hear that bass. How do you like it? Its going to be either a german thumb 5 2000, or the stage 1 identical to this one. Im torn lol. But im talikng to the right guy though haha.

While I prefer the tone of the Thumb, recently, I've been using the Streamer & Euro more because of the lighter weight and more comfortable body shape. The Thumb is great at being a Thumb, but if you're looking for versatility in tone, and you can only get one, then I'd say Streamer. Thank you so much for commenting and checking out the channel!

Hey Jason! Yeah, they're something special! Admittedly, I've always had to buy my Warwicks blind. I played Rockbasses as a kid, so I think I just assumed that I'd feel comfortable with the real thing. Fortunately, I ended up liking them!

Warwick tonal signature has always been limited to my ear... it's great to play on in person and it is a high quality instrument but the sound profile in recording seems to have less range. It works well for metal music where you add distortion but when compared to the Spector it falls short in tonality. I also really like the the thickness of the Spector neck, the Doug Wimbish signature model has a thinner neck however.
@gsimongear
@gsimongear 14 күн бұрын
If the Wimbish neck came in a Euro 5 string, I'd be thrilled! Thanks for sharing your opinions though - the Warwick sound seems to hit people differently!

The Warwick sound fresh, no baked in MUFF and it can do what the Spector can: sounding deep and less dull. What about the neck dive?
@gsimongear
@gsimongear 8 ай бұрын
The Warwick has less neck dive when strapped up, but it's denser on the leg when playing sitting down. It's the inverse for the Spector. No neck dive on either when sitting down though.

the warwick looks great, so does the spector, but I just cannot bring myself to like that thin twangy sound of the pickups, especially when it is soloed. Your musicman stingray is a whole different story. now that is a BASS! I have one too, only the newer buttercream color

I don’t like the Spector’s , sound design , body style etc..I played it well, to me it’s the WARWICK that far superior, I recently got my TRAM BUILT CORVETTE DOUBLE BUCK, it’s Amazing ! The “B” string is the most clear one I have ever played , I don’t play metal , I go from Blues to Gospel and everything in between. Can’t put it down. I also own MM STING RAY double and singe Buck, Yamaha BBNE2 (you must demo one) *Subscribed*
