My personal opinion was that quirks are just sequelae of a disease that caused mutation on a genetic level. The pathogen might have had died out but since the mutation had already happened, the quirk persisted and these genetic changes can be passed down to offspring. Sort of similar to how irl antlers in some animals were originally tumor that was passed down to the offspring (who developed tumor-suppressing gene to self-regulate its growth).

I think Singularity is misunderstood by a lot of people. Singularity isn't the point that the user can't handle their quirk anymore like Dabi. Singularity was stated to be the point of "losing control". That a quirk becomes so absurdly complex and powerful, that the quirk becomes something totally seperate from its user. When the user can no longer control it. Eri is the best example of this. Her quirk simply appeared as a mutation, and is sooo powerful, yet she can barely handle its power. Another example is Aoyama. He stated that his quirk can fire off randomly without the belt. He cannot control his quirk properly without the support gear. And the other example, is Tokoyami. I remember someone noticed how strange his quirk is. It's _sentient._ It has a mind of its own and goes berserk in the dark, without his control. One For All is stated to have passed that point a long time ago, right? Well, I think the singularity are the Vestiges all along. The only force within OFA that Midoriya cannot control. In fact, I think they're more like a part of OFA and they act as its conscience or something.

It's probably like what he's doing to make the bullets. He probably has enough control over his quirk to manipulate the molecules, and therefore the dna. Through experimentation, he figured out how to alter her flesh into a state where the quirk is always active and specifically targets someone's quirk. Because of natural selection, I don't think they would have to worry about everyone having uncontrollable quirks. Just like some people will have more potent quirks, there will be people like Deku with no quirks, or just less potent quirks. He's probably afraid that in the future everyone will get quirks with mutations like what he made in the lab, which isn't likely in a more realistic setting.

@IdkIdk-vm4dm7 ай бұрын
That's a great comparison, with the World's Heroes movie, Flect Turn reminded me of Amon due to the whole Humarise thing. Flect Turn was a bit more sympathetic and basically had Overhaul's motivation but more cultish compared to Overhaul's scientific approach, although he did use science for the trigger bombs but Humarise is definitely on the cult side of things

Toga's quirk could've been sooo useful to hero society if her parents didn't label her a "demon child" and make her feel like she had to suppress her quirk till she finally snapped. Also, in cases like Dabi where his quirk literally damaged his own body, you can definitely see how they can be seen as diseases. Quirk singularity was always one of the more interesting topics in the show and I hope they dig as deep as possible into the concept as the series continues.

Yes and no. If The Rat theory is true then yes they technically are. But if they came by naturally like the mutants from X men no. However “quirks affecting someone’s personality” isn’t entirely true. Shinso (the guy with the brainwashing quirk) could have been a master criminal at a very young age. But he instead wants to be a hero. As for the singularity thing with Quirks getting stronger generation after generation. Yeah I don’t see how to fix that.
@exoticplayer20254 жыл бұрын
In the universe of my hero, TECHNICALLY any quirk could be possible of being developed within a person (as we can see from the laws of physics being ignored aka Eri and Chisaki and literally everyone else). There is a TV show called the 4400, where a similar plot occurs where people on earth gain abilities that wouldn’t be possible in normal circumstances. Eventually they figure out how to give normal people quirks through a needle injection. However, survival of the needle injection is a 50/50 survival rate, and one person in the show just so happens to gain the ability to spread this needle injection through the air PASSIVELY. Which means that “quirk disease” kills 50% of the population on earth due to the ability being contagious. Maybe chisaki was trying to stop this type of outcome from happening in his world.

Actually....I get more and more afraid of what is there to come. We don't know something for sure. Too many pieces... But I do know: Shigaraki was driven in the total opposite of what he should be...nearly to be an "Anti-Deku". And he is up to a BIG BANG. I'm not sure whether I want to see this Big Bang or not... And we know that we don't really know something about OFA and his origin. Maybe he constructed this all to harvest the biggest possible amount of Quirks just for himself because he feels the need to do so. Questions left: What is with All for one? It is covered in mysteries. What about the second and third user of AFO? Will there be something related to timetravel? What about Eri and her quirk? Do we have a chance that fallen heroes/people can come back from being a nomu? How the hell is a nomu even be created? And wtf is Ujikos plan?!?! This guys weirds me out. Especially with what he did/do to Shigaraki. What the hell is happening there?! Oh. Whoops. To the Overhaul question: It's unclear. Evolution is based on mutation. Means all quirks are somehow mutations. But which purpose do they have? I mean even the ability of Dekus Mum is quirk for example. This lets me think that the doomsday theorie may be right. But maybe because of other reasons.
@Sanosukeafo4 жыл бұрын
Eri is the end game of the series, 100%. While Overhaul wanted to use her to raise the under world's power and status by playing both sides, I believe the heroes are going to need Eri to break the cycle. The Society in MHA's problems arise from the constant struggle between powerful villains and heroes fighting them back. A cycle that seems to be never ending. Beat All for One, other villains have risen in his place. Beat them, and more villains will show up eventually. I believe Eri is going to be the ultimate solution, permanently removing all quirks and resetting humanity to it's pre-quirk state, which will end the seemingly endless cycle of Heroes Vs Villains.

Being able to move quirks around and doing so for the public good would be quite useful. You stated he could insure hospitals would have healing quirks. Mixed with his longevity when doctors retire they could give up their healing so they could be passed on to younger doctors. The same could be said of a number of useful quirks, such as warp gate, which would be quite useful for public transportation. If All For One is able to keep passing on valuable quirks to younger generations, even if some of them are lost before he can transfer them, he could build up the number of such quirks over time, since more will be born and they wouldn't lose as many to father time. That said if All For One's quirk only slows down the effects of aging rather then stopping it then he will die eventually as well, the resulting void would cause all sorts of trouble.

And everything just leads to destruction because everyone's power is too strong. I was thinking it would be like an apocalypse or something like the purge where there is no longer rules and there is hardly any heroes left to save everyone. And the only good ones left are the few that have got weak quirks or no quirk at all. Probably doesn't make sense but oh well... Edit: And everyone can't control their quirk because it's too powerful, like in Eri's case. So that is the reason it could lead to an apocalypse?

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day... I think mha might be a loop, once the apocalypse happens, only the weak ones are left alive, and with generations their quirks will combine and get stronger until another apocalypse happens

Overhaul might be right about it but his goal wasnt the sake of the world, it was all about him "cleaning his own personal space".

So quirks are evolving and getting stronger sounds like everyone has a weak version of one for all and the one we know of is only strong because of all for one.

I believe it was stated somewhere that it was a genetic mutation or a genetic evolution, something like that.

Quirks arent the cause of wrongdoing. It's all choice. Shigaraki could have been a disaster relief hero by disintegrating debris and saving lives. Twice could have made a moving company or been a one man labor force. Toga could have become an undercover hero to take down villain organizations. They just lacked the drive to do good despite people bullying them for their quirls

Maxwell Wangerin You may be right. Except Shigaraki has Decay, a type of destruction power, he scratches his neck because his body reacts to him not destroying anything. Bakugo has Explosion, hence his Explosive personality. Overhaul has a quirk to disassemble and reassemble, which is why he was so stuck on making those bullets, he wanted to disassemble those with quirks and reassemble the Yakuza back to power. I could give more examples but i don’t feel like typing.

I don't think quirks are a disease but rather the cure if you know what i mean. for those wondering i mean it's like in ruby quest in that their was a drug created to cure something (blindness in ruby quest) but due to where the cure came from (an eldritch abomination in ruby quest) it ended up causeing insanity and horrific mutations.

His quirk is not eveeen that terrible to have as downsides if the doctors thought about it logically. All five fingers need to touch the same thing with skin contact. So gloves that are only as big as one finger and can be detached/reattached with buttons (onto a glove section for his palm). Even if you close your hand into a fist, each finger would be touching a different material. However because of how it's played out, imagine everything you ever did you could not touch anything with all five fingers. Growing up, toys, personal belongings. You would always try to be so careful but it wouldn't take long for you to accidently break something. Rolling in his bed every night, his hands touching the bed, sheets, and even himself. It's enough to drive anyone insane.

You know, sometimes I wonder if My Hero Academia will one day end not so much with hero vs villian and status quo restored, but with humanity losing Quirks/Quirks getting cured.
