This method works well, but 9:1 or 10:1 is not effective at all in preventing water spots. It repels water but when it dries, all the minerals stay on the paint. The best ratio I've used to avoid them is 3:1, since it does give you enough time to dry the car and it creates enough of a barrier to remove the minerals. I live in 110 degree dry heat and the hard water is a minimum of 350. Using the wax 3:1 did the trick and I never deal with water spots. I use DI water now, but when I'm out of it, I use the wax at 3:1 and no issues at all, just the extra step. Also, the residue left is not an issue since its a wax, but in case I need to remove it completely, I just do a quick ISP wipe which takes no time and apply a different protectant.

Allot of times when I see water spotting on the paint an it came from car wash so I try to rewash a second time to soften the detergent residue that harden on the paint in the Sun on those hot days to clean it off. From most of my experience what looks like a serious problems requires a another round of washing to remove an finding shade to dry down the top portions to repeating. Going to the car wash one of the top problems regarding water spotting is the lack of shade an people washing their vehicle not earlier between hours 7 to 10am. The Sun is too brutal on paint at certain elevated temps. If people thought more about this hard water spotting would be less of a big deal. Points to note… I use this chemical everyday and wouldn’t go on a detail without it, you were babying the product, the more of the wax you put on the panels is the better it beads and the longer it protects. you used it as a mist that won’t do much to repel or protect… if you put more on the panels you get better results. It doesn’t matter how trashed the car is or the type of soap. How I do it once I do my prep for bugs and so on I apply the foam, after fully foamed down the vehicle I apply the wax, then I do a contact wash with the wax already on, once you spray the wax on the foam it slides away like butter, the contact wash will apply to the panels without sud and nothing will stick to the surfaces after the wax was applied, u can even make the wax dry in hot sun to glass and panels even black cars and it will just wash off like butter when you go to rinse it, wouldn’t recommend you do it but just a pointer so you know In direct sun 80/90+ degree weather it won’t damage anything Go to one of your local self wash car washes and foam up ur vehicle and use the wax or pressure wax whatever they call it at at your local place and you’ll see the results if you don’t want to try it on a customer vehicle.

@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip2 жыл бұрын
There are multiple ways of using this product. The way mentioned in the video being soap + formula. Another being rinsing off product, apply formula, then rinse again before drying. Last being use as a drying aid. The way in the video definitely works, but the more I’ve done it, the more I realize there tends to be a residue issue. Nothing a quick wipe down won’t fix, but that has occurred. Second method is I think the best method for preventing water spots but probably doesn’t help with longevity. I think we are all aware of Scott bringing this to light. What Scott didn’t mention is the method in which I demonstrated and that was focused on by Luke. No discredit to Scott. I made a video on this 2 years ago when Scott first introduced it to KZbin so no need to brown nose in this video…

It's easier just to use the suction of the pressure washer on soap mode and spray the car down with formula wax
@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip2 жыл бұрын
You mean put the spray wax in the pressure washer?
@brandonmacd072 жыл бұрын
@@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip use the suction hose on the pressure washer and stick it in the gallon of formula 4 and it will suck up the spray wax and spray on the car.

Could you just add this to the soap without having to spray it on after?

Yes you can, although it won’t be as effective…

Hey my friend are you using hard water?

Whatever comes out of the tap! I don’t have a hard water meter, but yes I can get hard water spotting if not careful

@@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip thanks for answering my question, God bless you so much and your business, but I have one more question, if you already got the water spots when you are washing, what’s the best way to remove it? Can I use ONR or something like that?
@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip2 жыл бұрын
My pleasure! So it depends on the severity of the water spot. If it’s just surface level and can be confused with dirt, then yes onr would work. If it’s in the paint, your better off using a water spot remover or just polishing

@@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip thanks again my frien I already subscribe to your channel, make more videos about you working in direct sun light and really heat days and how you do it to deal with all that because beginners as me, don’t have enough money for ID water 💦

Water spots caused by the customer ? ps. better off with a white tip ( 40 ° + nozzle ) or more for qucker rinsing IMO )
@mr.lad-detailingtricksntip2 жыл бұрын
Caused by customer from possibly rinsing the car off themselves without drying, sprinklers, previous detailers. Unfortunately those things happen. I had a customer one time who spent 2200 on a ceramic coating from a “detail shop” who said he could rinse the car off every morning and drive to dry the car… Needless to say he wasn’t a customer for very long… Thanks for the tip!

A deionized water system is the best.

first the car must be dark color in order to test it properly. A white car will not show the spots properly

Not sure what this proves? At the point you stop it does not prove anything regarding water spotting.
