I thought it was cocaine eye drops that he loved taking. And as far as his tummy troubles. Being a fellow german we consume alot of cabbage and other veggies that cause stomach problems. And since he did take opiates that causes constipation adding bloating and cramping and painful large stools. And let's not forget the stress of trying to take over Europe . And Having his own men trying to kill him left and right. I am amazed he lasted as long as he did. P.s I love that guy talks as if he was there like a fly on the wall. My grandfather was officer on the eastern front. After the war ended in 45, my opa took my dad and aunt and oma to long island NY in 1952 and he told me stories about what he saw and what he went through. The horror of it all. My dad on the other hand would not speak of it. Once he learned English and lost his accent he only spoke german to my grandparents. So I can only imagine what horror my father witnessed (keep in mind my dad was just 12 years old at the time when the war ended) to make him pretend to the outside world that he wasnt from Germany. My guess is he felt shame.

The symptoms could point to numerous possibilities. I see no reason why syphilis. strychnine poisoning or any of the other possibilities should be considered likely. There's no way to determine this medically, at this point. Many historians would consider the idea of researching a medical diagnosis to explain HItler's extreme actions a topic they would rather not become well-known for. Not because it is an invalid area of research. Just because it might look like you are trying to come up reasons for his special level of evil. It just looks distasteful to many. Also, the Second World War has become almost over-researched at this point. It no longer draws the minds of top historians who see better opportunities to make their mark in other topics.
