A challenge you should try is winning as aquarion in Pangea random multiplayer 1v1's. It's hard but doable & fun with the old units, and with all the new stuff, who knows who would really have the edge!

9/10 games double sword is the way to go for snowball the only issue can be making the tech tree too expensive too early coupled with spending 5 stars a unit early. Upgrading climbing feels bad but can help you spot those needed ruin boosts. Unorthodox techs to boost population early can also help.

Look, vengir requires a lot of map luck and poor play by the opponent. You can gain map dominance early by shoving the enemy off the middle hut, cyamanti is scared of you one wacking there shaman in one hit but do not get greedy, ironically vengir imo works best when you play containment breach with the opponent. You cant close a game without running the risk of running out of steam but the enemy cant approach your swordmen at all, so claim a space and keep the enemy on low city numbers, then ball up and hang around infront of there cities to prevent more movement. You cant really play economy but you can stop them from expanding which is all you need to do. Adjust strategy depending on the tribe your facing and use swordsman as a moving threatener not a siege unit. (Also explorers are insane, having map knowledge will let you pressure or let off the gas, maybe less important with vengir but if you dont know where your enemy is thats bad)

I wholeheartedly agree on the fact that Cymanti has way too many tier 1 resources. I think it’s far too easy for Cymanti to snowball, especially on their capital. I mostly play versus bots, friends, and myself via alternate accounts or pass-and-play, and I have found that Cymanti’s resources are way too strong. It is genuinely nearly impossible to deal with a early game Crazy Cymanti bot, due to Crazy bots having more stars per turn out the gate (for those who don’t know, the bot difficulty has an impact on how many stars the bot gets from their capital)

Cymanti ia the only tribe I play. When I first got the game some months back and knew nothing about it they were the first tribe I used. I tried all the others but I don't like them as much as Cymanti, and Polaris is just cheating.

yes cymanti resource rate is disgusting. but what's more is that you can actually improve the resource by getting a segment or poisoned enemy explode or taken down in your territory to have easy 3 pop instead of 2 or 1
