Khabib landed great strikes on most of his opponents. All of his opponents were anticipating takedowns but Khabib loved standing and banging.

@AveSicarius2 жыл бұрын
@@hisoka524 I mean it's mostly the threat of the takedown, everyone is so concerned about they have their hands down, they are distracted, and they don't properly commit to shot's. His movement is awkward, alot like Dan Henderson, but his real advantage was that nobody really felt confident enough to deal with his wrestling, which let him do whatever he wanted. It's difficult to repeatedly land shots on someone when you are terrified they are going to throw you out of the change if you overstep even an inch. His chin is ok, but he never really took any serious shots but once or twice because any time someone would start landing, he would take them down, his footwork is literally linear, he walks you down, throws overhands to fake the level change, and then gets the takedown whenever he wants. His cardio is very good though. Khabib isn't a perfect MMA fighter, he's just an excellent wrestler who fought people who couldn't wrestle to that level. It's much like how Ben Askren dominated Bellator (I mean at least Khabib had some striking right) by just being really, really good at wrestling. If he ever came up against someone who could defend his takedowns, or who could deal with his pressure on the ground, he would have had serious trouble. The same goes if he came up against someone who committed to striking and didn't care about the takedowns. That's why most fans were excited to see the match with Tony, it was basically the perfect stylistic matchup to test Khabib and see if he could handle someone equally awkward.

Great video, I do get really tired of the guys who wanna say Khabib was one dimensional. No, the guy was just straight up a beast on every level, his way of winning was simply most effective, but never forget, he CHOSE HOW TO FINISH ALL OF McGregor, Poirier, AND Gaethje. He CHOSE, he could have done a number of things. He neck cranked McGregor, a very painful submission, and he slept Poirier and Gaethje, couple of guys He liked and respected. Khabib is not 29-0 for nothing, and screw the guys who say all he beat was "cans". Look we see what he did to everyone in the UFC he ever faced, what more do you need man, the footage is all there.

Those guys are basically haters. With only grappling one can't be 29-0. All fights starts with stand-up.

Nothing wrong with being a specialist. These guys tend to have a single, super effective strategy and it's beautiful to watch different guys try to solve the puzzle.

His strikings trash. Real easy when your opponents have all been beaten before you fought them. Pulled out 3 times against Ferguson. Dude was scared

His striking was not bad, it looks sloppy but it works His striking wont work without his wrestling tho, how akward his striking may be(It is an advantage) it wont work without the threat of a takedown.
@jojowee68342 жыл бұрын
He hit so soft, with no precision. And people were just preparing to use underhooks to stop his takedowns, thats the only reason he ever hit anyone. He's been hit so bad, but his iron chin is the reason he was undefeated not his wrestling.

@@monkebrainedfish3130 Islam has good throws like khabib. But he also is gonna get knocked out by gaethje if the same fight plays out like gaethje vs. Khabib.
