This was a good listen! I myself have talked to Mark about the C/FO days, asking about the Filmation members who were in the club on behalf of my SO, who was a giant He-Man/She-Ra fan back in the day. And that's how I found out about C/FO's relationship with Tezuka. :3

I wonder if Ko Kojima influenced Tezuka's taste or not. His early sketch from the war time already included sensual art, and some researchers say that it was a common phenomenon in young people who felt they would die soon. Plus, Nobuhiko Obayashi told in his book that Tezuka had a sister-complex. Obayashi wrote that, in the war-time, Tezuka's sister was "the most mysterious and sexy entity to him." That's probably the core of his eroticism, but we also need to the early manga artists' influence.

Love to see this topic discussed in detail. I've always found his work as fascinating as himself. I've watched a lot of films made by him or based off of his work, and it's quite awkward and hilarious to see his "alleged" fetish pop-up in these films.
