Honestly I respect Dread so much, a villain who has some honour but is still selfish to a fault is fun to see. Him vs Renegade Knucks is an interesting contrast to the Amy dynamic we have between Rusty Rose and Black Rose. If the series does end with a super fight between Nine and Sonic (with Shadow!?!?!?) that would be pretty peak, but I'm so conflicted because I'm not sure how this actually ends. This season has made me much more excited for the next and I'd say it was a bump up in all aspects, to be expected honestly.

I think part of the reason the Boscage Maze is kinda weaker than the others is because they always spend so little time there. Both in season 1 and 2, the Boscage Maze only got 1 episode dedicated to that world whereas the other worlds got at least 2 per season. And most of the Boscage episodes are just Sonic and Thorn, so the others don't get much time to be more than "unga bunga" versions of the characters

Boscage Maze is kinda the weakest of all the Shatterspaces. The self-contained story we got with Thorn and the scavengers was good but, unlike New Yoke and No Place, there's not enough there to make us want to return.

The first batch of episodes kinda suffered from Netflix' release method, they were clearly meant to be slower paced as they set up the different shatterspaces. It isn't until "Avoid the void" that the series actually establishes a goal for Sonic to achieve, instead just aimlessly jumping from world to world. So this is when the series finally picks up steam. There's a clear objective, the Chaos Council becomes an active threat in every world and not just in New Yoke, and we jump worlds way more frequently which keep thinks exciting. Also Sonic is way less frustrating now that we don't need to watch him be confused and wait for him to catch up to what's going on.

I actually really enjoyed the exploration structure of the earlier episodes, as I found it very interesting focusing on the different locations and variants. I found that the recent episodes had a very "mid-season" feel to them, and I was initially surprised we didn't see any new locations or variants, but I then figured out the clear direction the series was going in. And I found that the cliffhanger of episode 16 was about as perfect as it could have been. It really is commendable with how much effort has been put into this series, as it could have easily fallen apart with weak writing.

This season was a huge step up from the first season, I really loved this season a lot. The story and animation definitely improved this time around, and I'm really happy with how everything turned out. Seeing the characters from some of the different worlds was really sick too. The ending totally surprised me I wasn't expecting Sonic to transform and nine to betray him like that. I'm so hyped for season 3 after watching this season, it was truly great.

Real talk, I think this is the direction Shadow's character has to go in wherever he shows up going forward. He's not edgy, he's stern, His aggression towards Sonic is reactionary and is to used to keep him in check whenever he's about to mess up. Though he is serious, his confidence and subtle humor is well placed when next to more extroverted characters like Sonic. And Ian's voice is so fucking good for him too, hope they use him in the games as well (no offense to Kirk). I really hope that when the finally showdown happens, the plot allows him to at least enter the Grim Fingers Crossed, I feel the Council or either Nine is going to rebuild Chaos Sonic but he's going to boosted with Prism energy and we get either Shadow vs Chaos or a Sonic/Shadow team up.

A lot of people hated Sonic's characterization even back in Season 1 but I personally really like flawed characters like that and him being so silly and less mature made him more relatable and funnier to watch for me. As much as I liked Season 1 though....Season 2 was definitely an improvement. Shadow was fucking awesome, even if I wish we saw more of him and Chaos Sonic is just my guy bro, I love him!

The other characters barely know what's going on outside of their shatter spaces.

I’m not going to lie when I say that I got up at 3 in the morning on the air date to immediately watch the new season and I absolutely loved it! I watched the first season the night before and when I began watching the second season, I noticed the animation and action was a big step up, the pacing felt smoother since it was mostly hopping into the action and not much newer stuff needed to be explained outside of the first episode to the new season, and the dialogue was fantastic! Definitely at least a 10/10 rating for this season for me! I had a feeling that Nine was going to betray Sonic, but the way they ended this season to set up for season 3 was very interesting. The reason being is because both Sonic and Nine are right and wrong with how they want to save their reality and both don’t seem to think everything through. If they do it Sonic’s way and restore the prism in Green Hill, Sonic’s world would be saved, but the others may be put at risk of no longer existing along with everyone living in them. If they do it Nine’s way, then there’s a chance that all the other Shatterverses would continue to exist, but at the cost of Green Hill no longer existing along with the original cast, Sonic and Shadow included, which would leave Nine alone once again. They both have a similar goal in mind, but with different consequences and it leaves me excited to see what will happen in the next season and how the situation will get resolved. One thing I think could possibly happen next season is the possibilities of there being side effects for Sonic for taking on the large amount of Prism energy he took on to defeat the Chaos Council. I think this is possible because 1. the energy is still a very big mystery and even Tails didn’t even know the Prism’s capabilities 2. different forms of energy over the years have had an impact on Sonic physically the more he took on (like the Cyber energy in Frontiers) and 3. Nine was very hesitant to give Sonic the additional Prism energy in both instances and he didn’t get a chance to fully explain the consequences of taking the energy on (leading me to think he knows more about Prism energy than we think), but what we did hear Nine say, he talks about “transmutational possibilities” by taking on the Prism energy during the first instance and that immediately reminded me of what Tails was telling Sonic about what the Cyber energy was doing to him after Sonic frees him on Chaos Island in Frontiers. Only time will tell if this does happen or not.

I loveeeeed this season. I agree the jungle episode was the weakest, but the rest were all incredible. Episode 5 was my favorite since its the one to feature Rouge the most. I feel like she had way too little screentime this time around, which is a shame. But hey, they already made her a main character so I shouldnt be complaining lol. Maybe if we get more seasons after the initial 24-ep run she could have a bigger role. Big was also even more silent than last time

As for Sonic's characterization, I wouldn't mind it, if they didn't try to make it canon to the games. Because Sonic's character in the games, while kind of inconsistent, is still the same at his core, he never had or needed a character arc. As static character, we would see, him affect the people around him, not the other way around. The way he is in Prime implies that he regressed as a character at some point. Don't get me wrong, I still love Sonic Prime, the animation was very fluid and fun, I love the dynamic between Sonic and Shadow working together even though he still get's on his nerves, and the story really stepped up from Season 1. I just feel it necessary to establish that because of them trying to connect the games all this external media, the defense of "there can be multiple interpretations of the character" is something IDW and Prime can no longer hide behind.

That's how I think the next season will end Why would Nine want to restore Green Hill ? He has no connection to it , no memories ..... He's not ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of sonic regaining his old world and old friends The next season will most probably resolve this issue with putting forward the fact that fabric of the shatter-space is being destroyed due to the permanent portals the Chaos council opened This would open some sort of a black hole that would destroy everything The only solution to the inhabitants of the shatter spaces is to restore the original Green Hill zone or everyone is doomed This is the only way Nine would agree to restore green Hill zone . His reality should be at risk of disappearing .

Sonic prime was an ass show like literally it’s the definition of no story everything action and fights no different than the black clover movie but worse like literally there was nothing new to offer everything feels generic and the multiverse is wasted when Sonic has a different variety of versions instead of taking info from them and making it better they do stupid generic versions of each character literally nothing is good about this show except the action Shadow and nine everything else sucks the characters the worlds the villains are no different and should’ve been easily defeated by sonic and shadow but get nerfed stupidly when they could’ve easily defeated them multiple times
