Honestly, the fact that, when it comes to Floyd, you'd recommend Divison Bell along side Dark Side tells me you are not an opinion to listen to when it comes to Pink Floyd. It's true. I love Syd lyrics but interstellar overdrive is crude compared to the awesome, soaring beauty of saucerful of secrets... Though perhaps Syd's music would have evolved in time, Piper at the gates of dawn only rates maybe 7 or 8th on the list Floyd's greatest albums.

Overdrive is better than saucerful of secrets its even deemed as 1 the greatest instrumental songs of all time and no doubt if syd was in the band longer they wouldve gotten better and even more creative but syds adversity inspired them and bettered them. To even substantiate this fact they literally have a whole album after him. Even though he wasnt there physically he always was there spiritually and he for sure made the group what they are today. Roger seen what syd became and stepped up thats raw talent.

Let me guess you're early to mid 20s when making this video? Cause clearly your expectations of what music is/could be is rigid as fuck. You call syd floyd over produced for the time? All they did was doable live. The Beatles at that time were produced and was a large part of why they stopped touring. Syd's music was not that. Syd drove Floyd into a very live and fluid direction. Honestly not unlike Grateful Dead. I often see Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd similar to the realm of primal Grateful Dead. That's wherr the real music and soul exist
