Really enjoyed listening to this and hearing about Paul’s backstory. Like many others I would have met Paul playing music in The Sands around 2002/3 along with Richard. They were some great times musically, and also for meting so many other like minded people from the SPW message board. Paul has always been a top top selector and a go to DJ for his mixes. Glad I got to visit his Basement 108 party in Glasgow earlier this year where the vibes and crowd were spot on. Thanks both. 🙏🏽👌🏽

As someone that lives a mile from the sands, its been shut as a pub for 2 years now,it was up for sale, but nobody bought it,my best memories of the place, were the thursday night, pre book in parties,I often sigh when passing on my bike, its a great spot in my town,I was musically raised at the weekender from age 19,put our town on the global map,fun fact the sands used to be a railway station building, when the old liverpool cheshire lines train used to go up the coast road to Southport, great video andy, and paul 1❤

I am sure we met at the Black Horse Paul. Bob Cosby was the first person to book me at the Black Horse. I think the split was a natural progression and mostly happened because of the introduction of the Independent and modern soul. That divide created a perceived elite. That in turn allowed the new sound of hip-hop, balearic, acid and of course the rave and house music to thrive.
