Hi Georgina. Loved this reaction. I think your reactions are at their best when you give us all of the details about the shaping, singing the vowels, explaining the tricky parts in songs moving between chest and head. I love all your reaction vids , but especially these detailed ones. Fab. As a big KP fan, even I must admit I feel she perhaps hasn't found her lane since coming back to the charts. But I'll keep listening all the same (even if I have to skip the second track on the new album every time🙈). Shes got a lot of new artists to compete with who have a totally different sound nowadays. Bobbie Eakes did a fantastic job on that song way back in 2003 as her character Macy Alexander on daytime show "The Bold and the Beautiful". Highly recommended (if you won't get distracted by chandelier falling on her head right after the performance, I kid you not). Katy Perry was always a very limited vocalist so it's not a surprise she couldn't pull that off but at least kudos for pushing herself and trying.

I have been there live 👀 and she actually performed four songs, so having a more quiet and intimate song was a very well choice 😅 it helped a lot since a lot of people were living before after Kamalas speech and in the beginning everything was very hectic. And after people were more calm this helped

Not many people can do Whitney. Kelly, Ariana, Christina, Leona, Jennifer have done really well. Some others that I can’t think of rn, but like Kelly says, there’s some stuff you shouldn’t touch (unless you’re Kelly or another super-talented professional lol)

I'm sorry, don't get me wrong, I like some of Katy Perry's songs, just not live because I think she can't really sing live, just in studio. She is a good performer, just not a real singer. Whitney is extremely difficult and you gotta know what you're doing if you decide to sing one of her songs, especially the ballads like this one because there's a lot of voice and a lot less music and effects that can cover your mistakes if any occurs. This really hurt my eardrums and my heart because I adore Whitney ❤

I would have preferred Christina she has the agility and natural power to her voice to connected with the song more naturally, Katy is OK but I feel she is used moving around a lot on the stage especially with a song like that. Whitney would have moved in, keeping with the tone of the song, which probably would taken centre stage with nothing but a mic and her voice ❤

I think she was doing it all out of passion for Kamala to win and for freedom and rights especially women rights so didn't really think too much into it vocally. Perhaps it was last minute too and not rehearsed too. I think she was into it emotionally with the passion too.
