Here is Chelsea Green on Ring Of The Hawk during the time she went as Laurel Van Ness in TNA. She started out as a rich snobby girl but then the gimmick became very strange.

I enjoyed the Laurel Van Ness jilted bride gimmick It was quirky and way out there, but she made it work well . Wrestling in a wedding dress can’t be easy , but she really carried it off😃😃😃 After Grado dumped her when he found out she was Canadian and wouldn’t be able to get a visa , Laurel had a similar gimmick that while not as good , it was still entertaining 😃😃

Sadly 6yrs later. 1 is injury prone and they other is eye candy for a jobber tag team. The little bit I've seen of green she seems like she can go when not hurt. She needs to take like 3 years off and heal up. Would also give her a chance to have a kid if she wants any, instead of stopping years later or waiting until she's almost 40 incase she catches on at wwe or aew

@@freebird2882 well she's been off 9 months with a injury. And 1 yr with an injury, reinjuring herself both times And I'm guessing her age at like 26-32ish. Anything more then 3 yrs will either put her right at the starting prime age for being really good or the backside of her career before she gets to old if she wants to start a family.

Remember this period of TNA/Impact. Ended up becoming a fan of Allie due to this. While it was the end of TNA. I remember that storyline fondly. Allie organically got very over. Sienna, Maria and Chelsea Green played such an integral role. Same time the broken Hardys were killing it. 2016 was a great year for wrestling in my opinion. P.S. It was really sad Grado failed in TNA. The guy is a national treasure but sadly wasn't going to be over because the American audience couldn't understand his gimmick or humour so he was unlikely to have the same success outside of the UK. To me, Grado is the British version of Colt Cabana.

@@mrbludclot..5113 it's a shame the UK don't have that big promotion. They had Insane Championship Wrestling but they lost momentum once NXT UK was made and they essentially became a WWE partner to secure their financial future. Shame because ICW was on fire in 2016, even having 6,000 fans at the Hydro. They even got to book Kurt Angle they were so hot. If the UK had that big promotion I think Grado could've thrived in said promotion. NXT UK IMO killed the momentum the British indie scene was building. But at the same time you can't fault the UK talents signing with WWE because it's a stable contract with stable income.

Yeah, that's a huge part of why Grado didn't quite click with the fans, along with the lack of Madonna. If he had been able to use the song he wanted, he'd probably still failed but it would have lessened a good deal.
@CammyTheSportsEntertainer
@CammyTheSportsEntertainer 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikebottomlesspitdunham2954 yeah, his theme was essentially a generic poorly done instrumental of Like a Prayer as TNA couldn't pay to use the song, where smaller indie companies can get away with it. On the UK tours I think they used it, but on TV it was still the generic instrumental. Shame because I'd have loved to have heard the fans sing their hearts out to Like A Prayer.

- The problem with the characer is that it was presented as "SO SILLY. LOL!" and she was impossible to take her seriously because she was always portrayed as stupid. - She didn't notice the guy who clearly dgaf about her. She was a sidekick (both to Maria and Sienna). She was a drunk. She got dumped at the altar. She became crazy but not that crazy (Rosemay was doing the creepy gimmik). - The booking with Allie was upside down as clearly she lost when Braxon left her. SHE should've stalked Allie, not the other way around. - The only thing that changed in the ring was that she started using the Unprettier finisher (which also doesn't make sense because she was supposed to be the pretty one). - I like her but she isn't a top star, she's a less charismatic version of Tanille Dashwood.

Something I'm surprised you didn't mention is that Chelsea Green had an acclaimed match in Lucha Underground against Pentagon Black (or whatever he was going by at that time), as Reklusa. In fact, WWE so quickly came knocking after that match that Lucha Underground had to drop the Reklusa character when they clearly had big plans for her. As for LVN herself, her movement was surprisingly fluid, and I think she might've done better as a more technical wrestler than as a diva-esque brawler. Not sure what to do about the fact that she couldn't seem to get the crowd interested in her though.

Seen this gimmick for the first time at a indy show here in Austin. She wrestled everyone’s favorite perv Joey Ryan. I didn’t follow impact so I had no clue what was going on. She came out as her normal self. Midway through the match she went back to the locker room and came out a few moments later in this goofy gimmick freaking out. It’s hard for me to describe after that other than to say it was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen in a wrestling ring and that’s saying a lot.

@@ryanchambers8366 so I take it you were there as well. Mentally I don’t remember much after she came out in the “hot mess gimmick” (yeah I know I said I did keep up with impact but through the years since I’ve come to find out what the gimmick was about, to some degree) my mind kinda just went blank. Maybe it was the $9 coors lights, maybe it was the fact I bought a general admission ticket and was sitting in the second row and was paranoid about getting caught or W/E but when she came out mere minutes after going to the back with smeared lipstick, torn attire and shreaking like I’ve never heard my mind didn’t know how to process what was going on. All I really remember from that show was jack evans vs Keith lee where the highlight of that match was the fact evans managed to smoke a cigarette the whole time while getting man handled by lee, Aaron solo getting jealous that Ricky Starks was super over in Austin the city where he made his name, and an absolute banger of a match between Jay White vs Sammy Guevara in the main event about a week before White returned to Japan and debuted his switchblade gimmick that he uses till this day. Yeah I know that’s a mouthful but that essentially was Wrestle Circus for you. It’s a damn shame they didn’t have some sort of direction for their shows. They hotshotted Austin and there hasn’t been much wrestling since they quit running shows.

@@homedeezyfasheezy5662 I caught a clip of her match against Joey Ryan that was being shared but I wasn't there. I do remember Wrestle Circus as they did have Matt Hardy using the Broken Matt character as well from Impact Wrestling at one of their shows. Wrestle Circus's own promoter and owner had admitted why the promotion went under as he went simply went against the good and well intended advice of his close friends and colleagues to not continue running his own promotion. I think the promoter's wife's name was Lexi and one of the friends named Kevin Condron was one of the guys who saw that the promotion was too much work to handle for the promoter especially since they brought in talent from other promotions too often and not focus on their own people who were more closely associated. I could go on more about that topic but to get back to Chelsea Green she did a lot of raunchy stuff in Wrestle Circus with this gimmick like making out with Leva Bates and even wrestling Tessa Blanchard there and both women yelling at each other "Fuck you bitch!" during a match between the two. Even more crazy is that those two women apparently do hate each other in real life.

Impact wrestlings biggest problem is the fans, TNA used to have some amazing crowds but everytime i watch Impact the crowds feel lifeless and dead maybe they need more beer.

The main thing I took away from this video is that I remember Allie being a lot better in the ring. Maybe it was just these matches but 😬

I can't believe WWE didn't see anything in Chelsea Green. The woman is hot as fuck, has an appetite for the business and can actually wrestle. I know she had a couple of injuries in her last run but damn. Compared to some of the ladies WWE have kept employed for years on years, I'm truly gobsmacked the didn't do anything with Chelsea.

This is what happens when a wrestler watches one too many "In This Moment" music videos. Seriously, the gimmick is just the song "Whore" played out in a wrestling storyline, down to the makeup being a copy of the makeup Maria Brink wore in the music video.

LVN can be really solid as a wrestler when she isn't letting her character work get in the way of her actual wrestling. I loved how she leaned far into her character, but sometimes she really pushed that too far and it made a bunch of matches cringey
