Thank you for posting this video. I enjoy all of the Time Team episodes, particularly the ones investigating sites built and/or owned by my ancestors, in this case my great 15x grandparents Charles Brandon and Mary Tudor.

Funny how all these years later, Danni Wootten as online host of the revamped Patreon-based Time Team channel, has developed a weird hybrid accent, and Dr Suzanne Liscombe is now sounding more stern and patrician as podcast host on the History Hit channel.

Maybe something was there earlier, but if you can trace your ancestry back as far as Hektor can, those are probably family heirlooms dating back generations that were brought there

Hard to believe that medieval occupancy wasn't known about. Is it not in Domesday Book?
@annazaman96572 ай бұрын
Medieval period is a long time. Doomsday book is just one year 1086

When they find old coins hundreds and even thousands of years old. It makes me wonder how many of our modern day coins will fare. I doubt there will be any of them left. Sure Gold, Silver Cooper may last, but most our coins are made with much inferior material... Like our pennies in the US.

Hektor's father is the 6th Earl of Stradbroke. But they called him "a baronet". Why??
@lars5732 күн бұрын
Because British noble families acquire titles of increasing importance as they rise. Hektor's father is an Earl, and his oldest brother gets a courtesy title of Viscount Dunwich. Hektor's next oldest brother gets the courtesy title of Baron Rous. Hektor gets the Baronet Rous title. But Hektor's 4 younger brothers get nothing. Keep in mind Hektor there is the 8th of 15 children.

@@lars573 Hektor is Hon. Hektor, not a baronet.

Leading troups to their demise from behind the lines is far from admirable. The battle are won by solders. Officers meanwhile take the credit. Ɓ

Chain of command has a purpose. It's not like it's there to make X or Y feel good about this battle or the other. If the head of the group falls, what will the soldiers do without a bigger picture? Sheesh.
