Yeah the dub is weird. So very weird. 4kids is odd with Yugioh one minute they take away guns the next they show an honest to god heart attack. Although on that note Yugioh has the invisible guns things right well in Sonic X they show actual guns on screen both hand and military. Yes they make laser sounds but they are still guns actual realistic guns that they don't paint over or anything. Like you said you confuse me Dub. Although let's also appreciate Scotty Ray's perfromance in this episode as Zane. I love him so much in the dub and he has such a badass voice so fitting of Zane. He's the perfect Dub Zane, at least by 4kids actors maybe there's a funimation actor who would've better but regardless props to that man.

@kryzethx3 жыл бұрын
According to the Yugioh fandom wiki, there are.... apparently 3 other cards which might have beneficial synergy with Solomon's Lawbook (one of which, Mirage of Nightmare, is banned). The other two cards are... not great cards: Dust Barrier remains active on the field, but its only effect is to prevent Normal monsters from being affected by the opponents Spells (so Traps still affect them), and Swords of Concealing Light, which would similarly remain active on the field, but its only effect is... preventing the opponent from switching battle positions. The other cards listed, like Future Fusion, actually fail to resolve if the standby phase is skipped lmao.

@@sasir2013 There are two instances with Sheppard that heavily imply that zane can control his draws The first one is Shepard's monologue in which he talks about having taught many students but none as talented as Zane, and that Zane was "his best". During the entire monologue, the only thing being shown is Zane practicing his draws with the other students. The second is right after Shepard passes on the cyber dragon legacy to Zane, and Zane asks how to summon cyber end dragon (CED), in which Shepard replies that the card will tell him in due time. Zane is then shown in front of the mural of CED asking the duel spirit to tell him how to summon it, and he proceeds to practice his draws. During one of his drawing practice sessions, Zane is shown to finally speak with CED's spirit in the mural and it tells him how to summon it. Zane then tells this to Sheppard, who replies that he has finally bonded with his spirit, implying that one most be very good at drawing their cards (aka controlling their draw) in order to bond with this spirit. The way I see it, why would the animators specifically focus on zane drawing cards throughout sheppard's monologue and then animate Zane practicing his draws again when learning to speak to his spirit and summon CED if he can't control his draws? That's literally the only thing we ever see of young zane training to be a duelist under sheppard. we never see him duel - just drawing cards.

Great video as per, one thing though, all these cards used in the anime are 1000x different to irl, and ofc you get that. What's different though, the effect of the cards in the anime are probably the official effects. The irl cards were likely balanced to improve the versatility of played decks, cards, etc; to improve Yu Gi Oh marketing basically. So power bond might've permanently doubled Cyber End Dragon's attack, letting Cybernetic Zone double that doubled attack to the seen 16k, we never know though. Kind of like how in Yu Gi Oh Duel Links, Lava Golem's 1k effect damage was reduced to 500 for balancing, and in that case, it isn't original Lava Golem, which is kinda the point I'm making.
@filipvadas76028 ай бұрын
Ironically, if Zane had played more cautiously he might have won. What do I mean? Well, during the turn he summons Cyber Twin, if he had just stopped attacking once he realised Jessie/Yubel was dumping Crystal Beasts to the GY and just ended his turn, while maybe setting Cybernetic Hidden Technology face down just in case, he would have been in a MUCH stronger position. As now Jessie/Yubel would have no choice but to set their one trap in hand and just end their turn. Sure, they could crash their Crystal Beasts on the field into his Cyber Dragons, but that would leave them with no defense except Rainbow Path which would only negate 1 attack. Delaying the summon of RDD and forcing them to either sit and wait for Zane to attack into them or wait to draw into RDD. And since we know they won't draw into any field wipes or cards that would let them get over Zane's monster, the latter could reliably stall for *several* turns to get more resources and potentially win the Duel as once RDD *is* summoned, Zane would have way more options to deal with it. Now, to be clear, I'm not saying Zane misplayed. He thought he had game with the plays he made that turn and since had had no way to know Rainbow Path was the card set, its completely fine. But, yeah, if Zane hadn't extended like he did, he probably would have won.

I have a few thing to say (by the way, i'm sorry if my english is not too good): 1- On the scenario when Zane set "Cybernetic Hidden Technology" on his first turn, if at the end he "crashes" his "Cyber End Dragon" with "Rainbow Dark Dragon", didn't that means that "Power Bond's" cost wouldn't apply? I'm saying this because, on his duel agains Camula (the vampire woman) he uses "De-Fusion" after summoning "Cyber End" with "Power Bond", wich saves him from the cost because "Cyber End" isn't on the fiel anymore. 2- This is more like a question than something to point. Without "Advanced Dark" on the field, wouldn't all the "Advanced Crystal Beasts" be destroyed? After all, when Jaden duels with Jesse/Yubel and uses "Storm Neos's" effect to destroy all the magic and trap cards on the field, "Advanced Drak" included, all the "Advanced Crystal Beasts" on the field are destroyed AND they aren't set on the magic/trap zone, wich implies that without the field spell, they can't be on the field. So, if Jesse/Yubel send it to the graveyard with "Counter Gem", wouldn't that means that he cannot have the "Advanced Crystal Beasts" on the field to boost "Rainbow Dark Dragon's" attack? Sorry if i wrote too much (and if i have any ortographic mistakes) but i would like some answers to this if you don't mind.
@yugiohfan7906 Жыл бұрын
1) cyber end dragon still returned to the field during the end phase so power bond cost will apply, 2)storm neos's effect destroys spells and traps and since crystal beasts and advanced crystal beasts are treated as continous spell so they are destroyed. And in monster zone they are destroyed too because advanced dark isn't on the field anymore.

It’s when Zane attacks with twin dragon, we cut to “Jesse” who uses his left arm to put the cards he’s holding into his right hand’s fingers, then that hand shifts the cards to the pinkie and ring finger, so he then uses his remaining fingers to pull out the entire deck, then he unfolds it with his left hand and pulls the crystal beast from the deck to negate the damage. It’s such a crazy moment for me just thinking about the animation that they decided to do. Actually have some realism, only to then give it up when it came to unfolding the entire deck of cards like they were all stuck together.

Couldn't Zane have survived another turn...and probably won? You mentioned how there was a sequence that would have lead to Rainbow Dragon only getting a boost to 8000 ATK. If Zane made CyberEnd Dragon crash into it, that would remove both monsters from the field. As far as I'm aware, Power Bond's anime detrimental effect doesn't apply if CyberEnd is off the field at the end of the Battle Phase (please see the duel with Camula). It would then be Jesse's turn. With all his monsters in the grave, he'd need to draw something that would return them at least one of them to the field to go for game. If Jesse doesn't draw something to bring a monster back or defend himself, it passes to Zane's turn and he just needs to draw any of the monsters still in his deck or any of the cards he has to leverage his graveyard monsters, and he wins. Granted it's a gamble but the little I know of their decks makes me think the odds would be in Zane's favour (plot allowing of course) - note Yugi had much worse odds against Noah.

*Fun fact:* If Power Bond had retained its S1 effect for the entire show, changing only a single card is all that's needed for Zane to win: Power Bond's anime effect pre-S2 only gibs if the monster is still on the field during the End Phase (see Camula vs Zane) and it only gibs the current controller of the monster rather than the activator of the card. So if, hypothetically speaking, Cybernetic Zone had been replaced with Creature Swap (which we know he had in his deck) and he'd used it rather than just attacking, Zane would have been able to burn Yubel-Possessed Jesse during his End Phase and win. ....... Of course this could've also been avoided if they'd just let him use Limiter Removal instead of Cybernetic Zone during the Damage Step. 😂 Edit: Just made it to the end of the video where you've made the same Limiter Removal point 🙈

@dancostello48723 жыл бұрын
@@lpfan4491 Not that I don't believe you, but do you have any reference to the weird anime ruling; if you're referring to the fact that Zane still lost after playing Cybernetic Zone, that's because the Power Bond's end-of-turn effect damage had already been changed to its current version, where activating it causes the self-gib during the End Phase regardless of where the monster summoned is. In S1, the monster leaving the field would basically 'remove' Power Bond's effects from the field, so Cybernetic Zone with S1 Power Bond would remove the burn damage (as far as I'm aware), which is why I'm interested to know what your statement is based on in case I simply haven't come across it.

I have several objections! (Edgeworth Voice: Objection!) 1) Overload Fusion can only summon Dark Machihe Fusion, Cyber End Dragon is light, therefore is not eligible for Overload Fusion 2) the target for Power Bond must stay on the field (and not leave it) for Power Bond's drawback to kick in. Since Cyber End Dragon left the field from Cybernetic Zone's effect, Zane should not take damage from Power Bond's drawback and this leads to 3) sadly that is how it works with Cybernetic Zone & power bond in both the anime & Real Life. Cyber End Dragon in both anime & real life keeps its bonus power from Power Bond even if it leaves the field

Zane could've won on his second turn. Instead of summoning Cyber Twin Dragon, he could fusion Summon Chimeratech Rampage Dragon using 2 + cyber dragon monsters. He could then destroy Advance Dark field spell, and Crystal Path using Chimeratech Rampage Dragons' effect. Then by sending 2 light machine type monsters from the deck to the graveyard it gains 2 additional attacks. At 2,100 ATK and with 3 attacks against the 3 crystal beasts, he would deal 2,800 DMG to Jessie/Yubel. Awesome video and excellent analysis. @9:58, One small thing, as a Crystal Beast player, if Jessie had played Counter Gem, as you said to stop from being destroyed. He would have had 0 protection because at the end of the turn Counter Gem sends all Crystal Beast cards you control to the graveyard. So, therefore Zane would have won at the end of the duel because Rainbow Dark would have had nothing to boost its attack if we go by the real life effect. But going off the anime, it would have sent that Rainbow Life that Jessie set to the graveyard via the requirements of Counter Gem. Meaning that Zane would have inflicted enough damage from Chimeratech Overload Dragon.
