I would say if your styling lotion is a leave in and moisturizing there should be no problem . You not get a good hold on her curls without a gel

I know this video is old but I just had to comment. Shea Moisture is good for their Shampoo, Deep conditioner, and some of their regular Conditioners are good as well. But their stylers are mediocre at best. A cast is ok for the first day but, not your whole wash and Go. You just want to know your curls are dry and locked (set) in place before you break the cast. Use better products. Try Camille Rose naturals Curl Maker gel, over Shea Moisture JBCO LEAVE IN, and Camille Rose Almond Jai Butter, (moisture for days). Rake the products in with your fingers on soaking wet hair, on small sections. And you need way more product then you are using. And good products that are compatible won't flake up on you. You should be finger raking and scrunching your hair and hearing that squishy sound and your curls should be forming (popping). Coil where you have to but give that coil a little tug before you let it go. I would say air dry and don't touch your hair but that may take for ever unless your out side on a good sunny day. Try some protein to combat the frizz or maybe a little trim. OUIDAD MELT DOWN, AGADIR ARGAIN OIL DEEP CONDITIONing mask, Curl Junkie Dailly fix, and Aphogee 2 min reconstructor on fresh washed hair all add bounce and shine to your curls. Those curls need elasticity to be popping. Curl Junkies Pattern Pusher gel and Uncle Funky's Daughter are two more good gels. Fee, your going to use a lot of product because you have a lot of hair. You need more than that quarter size. Shop at stores that you can return the products if they dont work for you. ie.. Target, Walgreens, Walmart. Take your boyfriend to Target and let him pay LOL, I try that in target every time some times it doesn't work. Regardless your Crown and Glory is Beautiful.
