I've been getting so many compliments, men have even stopped me on the street to compliment my natural hair. So many of my female friends are telling me they want to go natural now. I did my big chop on the same day!! I went and had my hair shaped after my big chop. Afterward I bought suave naturals conditioner, Extra virgin olive oil, and sweet almond oil. so far these are the product i use to keep my hair moisturized. you can also do a hot oil treatment with the olive oil .... that worked wonders for my hair. hope this helps

You did a GREAT job explaining your style...most videos I see explain the process and just show the results...you did both! Most importantly your methods are EASY... I'm tired of these girls posting videos of the thousands of (foreign)products that they use (which you can only find outside of the country or purchase online) I will definitely be trying this method. your hair looks good, I just want to mention shampoos don't wash out "nutrients" from your hair, but the sulfates in shampoos do strip the oils from your hair, you should wash your hair more often especially if your using tons of gel. One thing I experienced from cowashing is the scalp don't get as clean.

@synspecialful ur hair is so brittle or dry it cud be becuz u are washing ur hair too often thus washing out all the natural oils ur hair produce hence leaving it dry. wat i suggest is that u reduce ur washes to 1-2 times a week and in between washes use a very good moisturiser an seal the moisture in ur hair with coconut or olive oil. also do a preepoo oil treatment. hot oil treatments are good or u can put oil in for an hr b4 co washing also deep condition once a week too. hope that helps

I am presently using this style alternating with twists and twists out... I use the Eco gel with olive oil no build up I use with Kemi Oyl... Results lovely plz think I've gotten an S-curl r sumin!! Thanks love my Kemi oyl

@ Synspecialful I think you should get a bottle of "Wild Hair Growth", that is a really good bottle of hair growth, it smells good and it makes your hair soft as well as giving it growth! Also get a tub of "Ampro Pro Styl Gel", very good gel for black hair, it makes the hair soft and it gives it shine!

U have good hair. It looks nice. I just did a big chop on Sep 1 2012 n I haven't wore it out yet. My hair is very dry and coarse. I haven't had a perm since feb 2012. I need a product that help my hair look better.

@juicyB1690- I used this method with water, Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and Eco styler gel. And my hair came out great! And it was on my big chop day so it's not like my curls were "used" to it. I didn't use olive oil because prior to styling I used my leave-in, coconut oil and a Shea butter mixture so I was well moisturized. Hope this helped you.

Did you detangle your hair before this, and how often did you comb/detangle your hair at this stage? My hair is about your length, I comb every day and co-wash every other day, and it never looks right. Am I combing too much? Thanks.

@Sanyeezy i know huh! lol i stopped using it because of that and kept doing twist outs.that really works on my hair.i still do twist outs but that eco styler never worked on my hair.even the brown one.the only thing that worked a little but still had wet and sticky hair was the loreal styling spray. i just stick to leave in with the new naked shea butter and argan oil and flat twist or just single twists lol.

Question, I did the Big Chop two weeks ago and I have some hair that is curly at the roots but on some of the ends their a lil slightly straight at the top with gel on it. Is that because, I just cut it ..?.. Will it eventually curl like the rest as it grows out ..?.. Thanks for sharing !! :)
