Wheel cleaning does not have to be hard. Brake dust on dirty wheels and tires can be cleaned with ease. Everyone always want to know the best way to clean tires. Awesome video. Question should I apply cleaning product on a dry wheel without using water or clean with water first and then use cleaning product?

If it is crazy dirty I would PW as much as I can off before applying the cleaner. Option 2 is spray cleaner on dry wheel, rinse off contaminants, than reapply cleaner and agitate. The worst option to use on a contaminated wheel is to spray cleaner on a dry wheel, agitate the contamination into the wheel, scratching and marring, than rinse. I prefer PW the wheel, apply cleaner, agitate and rinse. Some would argue that water from the rinse causes dilution and weakens the effectiveness of the chemical. Consider this fact if they are filthy. Its a balance between burning through tons of product or saving product while you are scratching up the clear coat on your wheels. Each situation is different. You have to pick your battles. Hope that helps.

My take. P&S brake buster. Detail factory tire brush. Pressure rinse. Adams mega foam. Carpro reset. Meguiars microfiber wash mitt. Auto fiber microfiber barrel blade. Soft boars hair. Pressure rinse. Gyeon wet coat. Pressure rinse. Ego 650 blower. Chemical guys pro blow. Carpro dark side applied with detail factory curved ball brush.

I bought a whole bunch of products to clean the fancy-schmancie wheels on my Lexus but if I'd known what I know now I could have saved some money on all that junk. Because the biggest issue I have is with spray on wheel cleaners. While all of them clean pretty well, it is the sprayer part that comes with the chemicals that is a problem because they're all junk and tend to break in no time flat. Rather than waste chemicals I got a 2 L pump-up sprayer by "Chapin" for $12. Takes any cleaner even corrosive types. Just fill it and pump it a few times with the handle, and spray the cleaner. I threw away the useless sprayer that comes with the chemicals, and just buy cleaner by the gallon size instead.

When I use the mechanical sprayer (bottle) of Turtle Wax Tire Cleaner, foam turns brown and I feel/see the cleaning. When I tried the foam cannon, not so much. Why?

The foam cannon will dilute the cleaner as a lot of what comes out is pressurized water. This is great for not so soiled wheels. If you need full strength you have to use a mechanical sprayer of some sort.

No matter what I do to wash my wheels i cannot get the ground in brake dust off of them 🙁. These wheels were clean to start with?

Maintenance washes keep them clean and cleanable. If you let it go too long you have to use an aggressive cleaner. Aggressive cleaners can etch the wheel surface. If you let it go way to long it is likely the wheel surface is damaged from the brake dust.

I've got satin black wheels on my car, there is not way I can use a barrel brush or a wheel face brush without putting swirls on the lacquer. I can just about use a hogs hair brush. I use a your favourite Marino wool black finger mitt and that ok. I'm surprised you've not used it on this video 🤷‍♂️

I do use it all the time. I mix it up. For fast washes on wheels I tend to use the brush but on delicate wheels I use the wool mitt. Thanks for watching.

I might build myself a little mobile wall with some storage on it for my auto detailing stuff. I don't own my own place so this would be my version of a permanent wall mount setup. I could have pvc hoses setup on it so all id need to do is hook a hose to it and that would supply my bucket fillers and pressure washer, then when I'm done I just unhook the hose and wheel the thing back into the garage for storage.

I started using an IK Foamer plus the one with the air valve with a portable tire inflator. I find it faster than the foam Cannon because I don't have to keep switching between foam Cannon and rinse tip

I like the style of this video! Hot tip for newer detailers. Don't use a boar's hair brush on gloss black anything including wheels. You will scratch it.
