Thank you so much, I didn't know about it the first time I prepped shetland and couldn't understand why the fleece kept breaking and why I was getting Pilling in my batts. So the research began, and this was the main answer I could find that made most sence xx

From the sounds of it, Shetland sheep are like Angora rabbits and blow their coats. 🤔 Thanks for the video too! I put it in my saved list for when I'm ready to gear up and survive the attack in the lanolin 😂

I’m just finishing processing a Lleyn fleece I bought on etsy that had a rise almost an inch long. It’s been a right pain in the backside to sort because I removed half of it before washing. Once I tried washing it first it definitely was easier. Your shetland looks to not be too bad.

Oh Angie bless ya that must of been such a downer when you found it like that after paying for it. I'd of been mortified. I have lucked out a bit with this shetland I wouldn't go back to the shop where I got it from mind as she told me the sheep were reared for hand spinning and that's bull after how I seen the fleece. Great video Sadie, just wondering if you can buy fleece off coated sheep in your country. I use to coat mine and the difference is amazing. Really feel for you dealing with all the vegetable matter, but on the up side your video is a huge help for anyone interested in washing it xx

Hi Celine, erm yes I do believe you can, and one day I may get one, but to be fair most fleeces I get are usually quite good, or I get warned where as when I buy from a shop I expect a but more quality than the free or cheaper ones I get that are alot nicer. Thank you so much 💖

Aww, love the lemonade comment at the end. It's late evening here in on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, and I just discovered you. I've already "fluffed" my Falklands Corriedale top - hahaha, we know about that in Canada, got the humour right away -- and looking forward to going to my washed Shetland fleece in the garage to see if I can find the rise, if it has one, and yank it off if it does!
