Hi Guys! I hope you enjoyed today's video! Which bale handling option is the best suited for our operation? The side squeeze, the twin bale spike with rollers underneath, or over the top with the elephant trunk style handler?

We use an over the top handler and can’t say anything bad about it.
@corkfarmer20353 жыл бұрын
The one with the rollers is more versatile as u can have the handler or spike but squeezer or elephant trunk if u are moving wrapped bales most of the time.

Olly’s Farm Look up JM Agri Tr 3, 4 or double 6 they have the best elephant trunk on the market. You can stack them standing up also.

Hi Olly hope your doing well today, I liked your cleaning video it’s a job to keep tractors scratch free on a busy farm, think you will get on better with a bale spike. Fenland Rob

Nice video Olly. With a squeezer - i find it purely depends on your wrapper and operation. I would personally go for either the double roller or side squeeze as you have a round bale wrapper but between the two it depends whether your wrapper tips the bale up on the end. If it does I’d go for the side squeeze, if it just drops on their side you’d be best off with the double roller style.
@OllysFarmLtd3 жыл бұрын
Double roller looks good doesn't it, the elephant one over the top looks good, i think it drops it on its side yep ;)
@tommadgwick96733 жыл бұрын
@@OllysFarmLtd We have 2 of the side squeeze style ones, we prefer them as we have a trailer Mchale 991 wrapper so you can carry 2 at a time compared to 1 with the others :)

Great video Olly! Really enjoying the uploads during this strange time. Such a shame on the 135 but hopefully it will get its restoration eventually. Some good options on the telehandler attachments. Thanks for the great content lately. Keep up the amazing work!

I would go for a side squeze grab, you can put roundbales on their side with it (which makes the stacks neater and bales stay neater). Also you can stack easier in my opion in comparison with a an elephant style grab. Since you can see the sides from the squeeze, where you loose side of the "trunk" when you put a bale on another. But a "trunk" grab you could also use on a big square straw bale, where a side grab mostly goes only open to 2,20meter, and strawbales are 2.40-2.50 most of the times. But either a side or a trunk gives you more options than the bale handler underneath.. those are only for round bales. Just my 2 cents after using a side grab for over 20yrs ;). Cheers from the netherlands, Casper

Bale squeezer with two spikes work well, you can use them to move wrapped bales then stab into two bales with the covers off, we have got two McHale bale squeezers have had them for years they have worked well

Hi olly great video! I think you should keep the 135 in her original working cloths and especially as it’s a nice original Norfolk tractor 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We have the elephant trunk bales squeeze and they are amazing you can use it on square and round bales
@georgeholland11603 жыл бұрын
We’ve got an over the top squeezy. Very good but if you want it pack the bales tight onto a trailer then you can’t pick the pack up again so I would go for the one that’s goes underneath the bales :)
@RmB_Motorworks3 жыл бұрын
I find the "over the top with the elephant trunk style handler" is annoying to stack neatly with and loading with etc (only used on square bales).. What I think is due to the leverage point on the design I have. Square bales I like the squeeze design best. Round bales the scoop design best.

Just something to think about with you Cultivator what we do after a root crop is rip it across the hill and you want the machine in the ground at least 10-12 inches to let the water soak away rather than just scratching the surface. There’s no need to take off your packer

@joeschipper64653 жыл бұрын
i think the second bale grab there is better if u are putting round bales tight together because its hard not to rip the plastic with the first bale grab but if u have the 2 spikes it goes under in the grabs and just squeezes then the only thing is that a lot of them swing a bit when theres nothing on them but it doesnt rlly get in the way unless u go over a few bumps but it comes down to what u are doing and how u prefer to handle bales like the first one is probably better for stacking bales on the flat ends rather than the curved bit

What size wheels are on the front of the tractor Ollie? They look a bit on the narrow side. The reason I say it because the hub comes out nearly flush with the rim.
