My Dsd took our family there 3 summers in a row. 1963-65. You were able to still go into the mine, at your own risk back then. Very cool place.

We camped here every weekend from 1965 until the 80’s rode dirt bikes everywhere and pan for gold on poor man’s creek. Wasson and Irwin family

I know all the roads up there. If you go across bridge stay to right and follow about 10 miles maybe and their used to be a day use area their to swim. Swim across go up to the left over the rocks and their is three falls back their. Found a once gold nugget on poor man’s check when we stopped for lunch and got out our pans..still have it after 48 years
