Had a short stint as a linesman in the AHL, seen a lot of dowd in Ontario with Biz…. Great hockey player and between the whistles he was a beauty. Glad to see his success in the NHL. Biz yelled at me for an icing will always be my “claim to fame” 🤣

Glad to hear it. As a Caps fan, I had a hard time watching such a huge team guy like Jay Beagle leave and cash in on a cup win (no judgement because those guys typically go underpaid for years until they win one). I didn't expect much from Dowd as a 4th line center after getting passed on by a bad LA team, but he's been great in DC. Seems like a great guy off the ice and runs a solid 4th line on it. Potted some nice goals along the way too.

Whit is the man but acting like Vincent is some saint is an odd take. The report stated that Vincent's account is directly contradicted by both witnesses and records, plus Jenner and Block stated they could not conclude that he actually told anyone in management what Beach shared with him.

The Chiclet guys with by far the best treatment of the Kyle Beach/Chicago Blackhawks debacle. They fully acknowledge how serious it is, and what a shameful, colossal fuck up it was, but they're just so much more level-headed than most of the vultures on social media and elsewhere in the hockey media. The guys are fair to the players on the 2010 team, as well as Kevin Cheveldayoff, given that we do not know precisely what they knew and how much of an accurate picture they had at the time. And holy fuck was it annoying to listen to the hockey world exploit this tragedy to shoe-horn in all this talk about "changing the culture", getting rid of old hockey men, incorporating diversity and inclusion initiatives, blah blah blah. The worst was Tara Sloane, comparing the fuck up to the NHL resisting tattooing 'BLM' all over their rinks last year. What a joke. Give me the Chiclet guys all day, everyday over these losers.

What pisses me off the most was Aldrich was right. He said you tell anyone you'll never play in the NHL. How many 11th overall draft picks didn't play a game in the NHL, think about it.

@ 31:26 Biz says "there are stories going around that some of the players knew" when in fact the actual comments by Brent Sopel were “…I’d say pretty much every player said, ‘Holy s--t’ and was shocked by it”. “We were all in the same dressing room. It was something that was discussed for at least two or three days." Soooo... how in the world is the captain of the team not going to know? @32:27 RA says "Toews and Kane gave statements and you know they wish they might have handled things different but even then they didn't get into specifics of what they heard or they didn't convey what was conveyed to them." But what Toews actually said was "the truth is I had not heard about it until training camp the next year." Something is clearly not adding up here. You don't need to say one side is right or wrong in your opinion, because you don't know. But at least be accurate on what both sides are saying. Because by misreporting what Sopel and Toews said, it looks like you guys are trying to help the players get off the hook from facing any judgment.

Well said from all three on the Chicago story. Whit especially summed up everything I've felt reading about Beach and this story since it surfaced. The ugliest story to ever hit professional hockey, but the league can be better for it if teams and especially players can recognize just how fucked up it is, get angry about how poorly it was handled, and resolve to never let anything like that happen on their watch. Beach may have not been technically part of the Players Union when this happened, but someone in it should have gone to bat on his part. Unions are supposed to be every bit as much about making sure the next generation gets the same opportunity you did as they are making sure you get what you're worth now.
@peanutarbuckle29802 жыл бұрын
why did Kyle Beach never go to the actual authorities, the police, with reports of rape? If his story was true, why did he only go to his team therapist, and sit on it for weeks, and never do something more serious and official?
@boogiekush93912 жыл бұрын
Have you ever been sexually assaulted? I have been and it's makes you feel like absolute dog shit and like your not worth anything, and when you do actually speak up you face a lot of people that won't believe you and will talk shit on you. Male sexual assault is not taken serious at all, same with women . This is absolutely disgusting
