Washington Capital's superstar Alexander Ovechkin needs 42 goals to pass Wayne Gretzky as the All Time NHL Leading goal scorer.
With star players such as Niklas Backstrom on LTIR and TJ Oshie expected to do the same, the Caps could free up over $14 million in free agency cap space money. If he is going to pass Gretzky this year the Capitals MUST find Ovechkin some help this offseason.
Ovechkin had a very impressive 2nd half of this past NHL season, scoring goals in bunches, very Ovechkin-esque..
The Caps have a few options with their #17 pick, including trying to get him a center who may quicken his goal chase.
